The Role

At Shell, we’re developing all kinds of ideas to help meet the growing demand for energy. And we're looking for ambitious students and graduates to help us do more. If you’re ready to make a real impact on the world through challenging projects, apply for a Shell Internship today.

Shell is a global group of energy and petrochemical companies, employing approximately 93,000 people (2,000 Australians) and operating in more than 70 countries and territories. Our aim is to meet the energy needs of society in ways that are economically, socially and environmentally viable, now and in the future. Our focus on innovation and technology has made us a leading manufacturer, distributor and marketer of refined petroleum products.
Shell Internship Programme

Our internships are fully assessed and will allow you to get involved in real projects specifically matched to your interests and abilities. You’ll receive regular and structured performance evaluations from your mentor and direct supervisor, and you’ll find out what the energy industry is really like, from the inside.

A Shell internship gives you the opportunity to:

• Build valuable networks for future career options,
• Discover potential job areas, fields of specialisation or area of future study,
• Gain exposure to the energy industry,
• Work on projects that have a real business impact, and
• Put into practice the theories and concepts you have learned.

Requirements

We are looking for a student enrolled in Geology related degree that is interested in:

• Geomechanics – principal stress definitions and controls on fault and fracture orientations,
• Reservoir Geology – fluvial/lacustrine depositional models, how coal is formed and what controls coal character and resource density,
• Wireline well log formation evaluation – interpretation of lithology from wireline logs
• Well, reservoir & facility management processes.

To be considered:

You must be an actively enrolled student in your penultimate year of study.

• You must possess current Australian or New Zealand permanent residency (PR) or citizenship at the time of applying,
• Our Internship role is based in Brisbane and you will need to be open to relocating,
• Candidates must be available to start on the 12 Week Assessed Internship Programme commencing 25th November 2019 and finishing 14th February 2020,
• Your prompt completion of the online assessment will allow us to process your application in a timely manner,
• You must attach your academic transcript – we need to see what units you have been studying.

As you'll be assessed entirely on how well you perform during your internship, you could even secure an offer to join Shell full-time when you graduate – without the need for a further interview.
