Operations Maintenance Coordinator
Where do you fit in?
The Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC)’s primary focus is the interface between Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and HSSE, to execute the maintenance work process effectively and safely. Responsible for oversight of execution of the Maintenance Work Process (CMMS).
The main responsibilities of the OMC are to review and define the maintenance work request. This is such that the work requests are prioritized correctly and can be carried out safely and on time. This position will report to Facilities Support Lead.
What’s the role?
As an Operations Maintenance Coordinator, the tasks that you will be performing includes:
- Execute the preventive and corrective maintenance activities are aligned & completed with the approved maintenance and inspection strategies
- Ensure that critical activities are completed (e.g. Safety Critical Equipment Work Order’s) on time, on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure that work requests are assessed, screened, risk evaluated, prioritized, scoped, approved, and communicated to the selected department. Screen notification for correctness, accuracy, and justification of reactive work requests in a timely manner. Performs risk assessment and prioritization of screened work requests. Approve or cancel/Reject notifications not meeting minimum requirements and communicate to work requestor.
- Gains clarity by making field/site inspections and/or consulting with notification requestor as needed. Determines if a Management of Change (MOC) is required and drive the adherence to the MOC process
- Creates a Scope of work for Work requests. Consults with technical support to provide additional troubleshooting and/or preliminary work scope development if required
- Identifies “Self-Execution Preferred” work and route to correct department for execution. Conducts Low or Medium Risk work requests & surveillance Inspections as part of the "Do It yourself" initiative. Confirms “self-executed” work complete/Close Notification
- Creation & Issuing of Work Order to external parties.
- Ensures effective utilization of resources from a perspective of safety, costs, and timing
- Ensures an updated and accurate backlog, and accurate history reporting
- Maintenance Execution Preventive work processes ensuring that all preventative and surveillance work gets completed
- Confirms that work order has been completed with sufficient attention to job history reporting and job specification, inspection reports filing & updates into EDMS (Electronic Document Management System).
- Submits required maintenance reports
- Submits the Terminal Maintenance financial performance monthly.
- Reports on asset performance history monthly.
- Proactively seeking opportunities to continuously improve the maintenance process and eliminate reliability challenges & ensures the overall effectiveness of the maintenance process. Collaboration with facilities and engineering in delivering common targets and cost reduction aspirations.
- Quality execution of maintenance works, accurate work scoping and eliminate variation works. Able to manage contractor resources well in delivering maintenance targets.
What we need from you
To be a successful candidate in this role, you will have:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related disciplines.
- At least 3-5 years of engineering-related experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse problems/troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Systematically determine the root cause(s) of problems through questioning and inspecting, and then identify the best course of action to take.
- Ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences to optimize or detect abnormal conditions within the process.
- Experience with GSAP, HAZOPs, MOC’s, Incident Investigations, and Job Safety Analysis is a plus but not a must-have.
- Experience in construction industry or site safety is a plus.
- Experience in contract management and site work supervision/management is a plus.
- Good commercial mindset and proactively seeking opportunities to reduce maintenance cost (i.e. Maximize work activities per contractor per location and area, etc.).
