Where you fit in?
You will be part of the global Fluid Flow and Reactor Engineering team with staff in Houston, Amsterdam and the largest group in Bengaluru.Your colleagueswill havea modeling or experimental background in the areas of fluid flow and reactor engineering who make use of advanced computational tools and state-of-the-art experimental equipment to carry out their own R&D activities, support other research groups within Shell, and provide world-class differentiating capability to projects and assets across the globe.

We are a world leading community of industrial scientists and engineers committed tousing cutting edge R&D to take us through the energy transition into a winning position in a low carbon world.The position ofAI ResidentScientistinFluid Flowis an exciting opportunity within the Shell’s Technology department solving the most challengingfluid flowprojects for our Upstream, Downstream, Integrated Gas and New Energy businesses.We are looking for an enthusiastic person with a strong track record in artificial intelligence and machine learning to applytheirknowledge in making a leap inourfluid flow capabilities.
Carryout all activities with safety as thefirst priority(Goal Zero).
Deliver final solutions/products (like programming code) that are ready for use by R&D scientists and operating assets
Convert a high-level fluid flow problem into a list of activities to be carried out. Fulfill the role of a project manager.
Innext2 years youwill get to work onfollowing fields:
Speeding up Computational Fluid Dynamics modelsthrough the use ofReduced Order Modeling or Deep Neural Networks
Introduce Artificial Intelligence in the Computational Fluid Dynamicswork-flowtomakethe overall process more efficient
Use image recognition analysis of fluid flow visualizations to optimize operating plant performance
Integrate the experimental facilities in Shell Technology Center Bengaluru into the digital world (digital twin)
What we need from you?
We’re keen to speak toyouwith aMaster’sor PhD degree in statistics, mathematics, science, econometrics or computer scienceartificial intelligence, machine learning or similar discipline.
Along with your strong experience in the delivery of analytics solutions within a corporate or academic environment, we’d also hope to see as many of the following on your CV:
Experience with using AI/ML tools to applications in the area of fluid dynamics or a related engineering field
3to 5+ years of industrial experience with demonstratable value delivered on your project work
Strong computer coding skills in the latest artificial intelligence and machine learning tools(like for example TensorFlow, R,SciKit)
A self-starter who is using creativity to tackle the hardest energy transition challenges
A working attitude that putsfirst priorityon safety
A team player with good oral and written communication skills
