Distribution Operations Support Advisor
Shell Trading & Supply (T&S) is the central nervous system managing the supply chain for the Mobility/Aviation/Commercial Fuels business in India, Oman and UAE. We are currently running and growing a supply chain consisting of shipping, terminals, and road transportation operations.
What’s the role
The role of Distribution Operations Support (DOS) Advisor is critical in managing supply chain operational excellence for the cluster. This role needs to possess high level of influencing skill without formal authority and mastery in leadership/team engagement.
· Demonstrate mastery in hydrocarbon storage & handling terminal operating standards in line with International & local standards.
· Provide training and reference material s (e.g. templates for local operating procedures, documents tracking product handling activities) to terminals which they con localize for own operations.
· Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex, non-routine terminal operations challenges that will arise from terminals.
· Closely work with Terminal Managers for terminal operations & HSSE assurance
· Support Facilities Team in implementing terminal initiatives, projects, and programs; prepare communication materials and track progress during roll-out and embedment.
· Identify applicable internal standards (similar to IOGP standards & guides) requirements and guides staff on how to implement and improve operational & HSSE risk management activities with commercial mindset.
· Act as Emergency Response Coordinator for cluster and implement and actively promote compliance to Shell Trading & Supply Distribution Operations’ Emergency Response Standard across terminals.
· Act as Management of Change (MOC) and Permit to Work (PTW) reviewer for cluster
· Drive standard application of Shell Group & business specific mandatory requirements across all the facilities under Shell operational control.
· Promote operational excellence and apply substantial improvements by leveraging on best practices from other markets and industries (locally & globally)
What we need from you
We're excited to connect with candidates who possess the following qualifications and are ready to take on the challenge:
· Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in Downstream Supply Chain and Engineering Project Management
· Working experience in Bulk fuel/Hydrocarbon storage terminal
· Engineering project execution is desired.
Special Challenges
· The role requires travel between countries and participating in calls and conducting Frontline assessments beyond off-office hours (approximately once in a quarter)
· This role will be required to connect and engage senior stakeholders and business leaders.
· Successful candidates will need to have flexibility around time & job requirements as the Distribution Ops Support Team covers cluster of countries with different working weeks and responsibilities for this role may be adjusted in future.
