The Role

Job Description:

The Enterprise Resource Management function within IT Engineering, is responsible for allocation of resources across the Shell IT Enterprise. This function collaborates across various Lines Of Business, Contract and Procurement, Strategy and Planning, Project and Program Management, Capability center leads, to drive effective resource management processes and practices. A fundamental pillar to this having the right information available, analytics to drive insights and using a systems approach to connect various systems to formulate an integrated view of data which will enable decision making across various levels of management and leadership.

The Enterprise Resource Management Team is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to help initiate and deliver these initiatives and projects

The Business Analyst is responsible for identifying and documenting the business needs of Senior Business IT stakeholders, and helping to determine feasible solutions to meet business needs or resolve business problems. This position will give you high visibility in the IT organisation and offers a great opportunity to grow to become an active thought partner and solution visionary who shapes the technology demand and direction in the business IT community.

This position has the following accountabilities:
  • Capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements, including health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations.
  • Translate business requirements into solutions and assess the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options.
  • Assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand the current value and issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Interface with Sourcing (C&P, CSD) team – for requirements, improvements and Kenexa support team for data requirements
  • Interface to Workforce plan team – for capturing requirements, clarification regarding data being captured in workforce plan, any changes to workforce plan process/template that affects the Power BI reporting
  • Insights/Input to Power BI for developing new features and functionality
  • Continuous Improvement for - Power BI Dashboards, Process Improvements for IQN, WFP and Kenexa
  • Interface with Azure Datalake for sourcing and building data on time as per specifications.

Special Challenges:
  • Respond to organizational and environmental changes during in-progress activities.
  • Guide senior IT stakeholders to gain acceptance / sign-off despite competing objectives. Manage requirements to the smallest set that will provide the biggest impact in advancing business objectives and end-user buy-in.
  • Describe technology in terms easily understood by business customers and set realistic customer expectations for the project outcome. Adjust customer expectations in accordance with changes in scope.
  • Generate innovative approaches to existing problems or new opportunities.
  • Work closely with senior IT leaders to build trust and understand their goals, motivations, constraints, risks, and operating environment.

Skills & Requirements:
  • Business Analysis Skills
  • Experience of Power BI reporting and modelling
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Hands on with DAX and M Query
  • Experience of working on Azure
  • Good communication skills
  • Agile project experience.
  • Typical Years of Experience: 4 to 7 years of corporate IT experience
  • Minimum Education or Certification: 4-year Degree related to IT
