What’s the role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will leverage your strong technical expertise in SAP HR ABAP and Workday development, along with your analytical and problem-solving skills, to develop SAP solutions. You will collaborate closely with our business analysts, stakeholders, and senior team members to ensure successful project outcomes. Your responsibilities will include gathering Workday integration requirements, assisting in end-to-end Workday design, reviewing technical designs by junior consultants, and supporting Workday security and reporting teams. Additionally, you will strategize for upscaling Workday capabilities and manage multiple assignments to ensure minimal impact on other application areas.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design and develop code, specifications, and test programs for SAP modules and functions using ABAP programming language

  • Provide technical support on matters related to the SAP ABAP programming of SAP modules and third-party interfaces

  • Work with SAP business analysts to formalize specifications for custom development.

  • Identify feasible solutions within SAP framework and estimate the effort needed to meet those technical requirements and gaps.

  • Review functional specifications to ensure completeness in preparation for the development of custom objects

  • Manage multiple assignments while concurrently fulfilling ongoing application support and maintenance responsibilities.

  • Work with internal and external technical resources to implement continuous improvements

  • Collaborate with other analysts to ensure system and procedural changes have minimum or no impact on other application areas and workstreams.

  • Document system changes and results per systems development life cycle requirements and audit guidelines

  • Create specialized reports for SAP modules using ABAP programming language.

  • Advise other IT staff on internal development procedures and standards and ABAP development best practices

  • Assist business analysts in the development and maintenance of training materials and reference guides

  • Support technical requirement gathering, develop prototypes/PoCs/recommend solutions with limited information from the business, delivery quality technical specifications and documentation

  • Run a quality assessment of peers’ code

What you bring

  • 9-12 years of total experience in the IT industry

  • Solid SAP Development experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in SAP HR ABAP and Workday technical capabilities

  • Hands-on experience with Workday integrations

  • Expertise in Studio developments and Orchestration developments

  • Proficiency in Workday reporting and various reporting types

  • Experience with EIB outbound and inbound integrations

  • Skilled in creating ISSUs, ISSGs, and assigning them to integration systems

  • Hands-on experience with end-to-end outbound and inbound integration flows, including PGP, SSH key sharing, and establishing connectivity with middleware

  • 1 full life cycle implementations (preferred)

  • 1 year of experience developing SAP RFCs, working with BAPIs/Webservices for external interfaces, developing Web Services within SAP, and consuming external Web Services to SAP

  • 1 year of experience building interfaces, enhancements, and reports in SAP

  • Strong experience with the Enhancement framework, user exits, OData, ALE, IDOC, OO/ALV, BAPI, Reports, and BADI implementations

  • Experience developing and modifying SAP forms, including SAP Script, Smart Forms, Layout sets, and Adobe forms

  • Strong working knowledge of HR business processes
