Technical support roles reside in all the businesses within Shell and are typically at the front line of the Company’s activities. Technical support jobs in Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations involve working in teams tasked with the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of our global projects and assets and could include Instrumentation Technicians, Electricians, Welders, Mechanics, Pipefitters, and Field and Process Operators.

What’s the role? 

• Lead and motivate all his contractors, and others under his control in maintenance execution.
• Execute the HEMP and Safety Critical Activities by specific performance standards as per the ME process & and align with CD&A for safe and reliable operation.
• Lead in maintenance execution for both PM and CM (for non-vital equipment and SCE) , and follow strictly to requirements stated in departmental work instructions and procedures.
• Guide, advise, and troubleshoot technical/operational problems in expertise.
• Ensure maintenance execution for non-vital equipment is in place, such as compressors, pumps, fin fan, blower, catalyst change-out, ROR, SEC SHM/evaporator coil repair, WFE repair heat exchangers, vessels, Columns, and other Static equipment.
• Assist the Team Lead in carrying out RCA and seek improvement on the reliability of the equipment.
• Assist the Team Lead/ Coordinator in ensuring the task list stated in the planned work order is relevant and realistic.
• Assist the operating department with mechanical engineering matters and to define time for maintenance requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with all HSSE requirements including subordinates and contractors, especially for critical activities including heavy lifting, confined space entry, hot work, HPWJ, work at height, etc.

Principal Accountabilities

• Will be on the callout duty roster and require responding to ERT whenever needed.
• Contribute to high safety performance of the site through visible safety leadership.
• Lead the coordination of Mechanical and civil resources, both Shell MDS and Contractor Partners to deliver routine preventive and corrective maintenance activities safely, timely, efficiently, and with high quality.
• Provides prioritization capability to ensure maintenance resources are delivered per ME prioritization levels, adhering to department processes, procedures, and work instructions.  
• Provide supervision and ensure quality execution of HEMP and Safety Critical Activities by approved performance standards to ensure safe and reliable operations of assets maintained.
• Provide first-line troubleshooting, technical advice, and guidance to mechanical & and civil technicians in routine maintenance. This includes ensuring sound Job Method Statements and Job Hazard Analysis development.

What do we need from you

• Technical/ Engineering Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Min 8 years relevant experience
• Good Command of English and Bahasa Malaysia communications/ Writing Skills with the ability to interface well with various stakeholders.
• Good Analytical, Planning and Problem-solving skills
