What’s the role

Team member in Rotating Equipment section to support the condition and performance monitoring of the assigned rotating equipment and aid the senior colleagues to perform the required trouble shooting activities of mechanical faults, in order to effectively predict and prevent equipment failures.

Team member in Rotating Equipment section that responsible in ensuring that the works are carried out in a safe manner in accordance to Shell Global Business Principle, Government regulation, compliance to design codes; Shell DEP, API etc and safety standards and Shell MDS HSE procedures.

What you’ll be doing

The principal accountabilities of the Senior Rotating Equipment Technician includes:

HSE Responsibilities

  • To ensure compliance with HSSE standards and requirements
  • To work in safe manner according to Shell HSSE working culture; HSSE Golden Rules, Safety First, Life Saving Rules.
  • To provide support to implement programs to achieve the requirements of the HSSE-MS.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • To ensure compliance with and adherence to company standards and processes.

Strategy Development and Implementation:

  • To execute specific work tasks with regards to Preventive Maintenance (PM)/Equipment Condition Assessment:
  • Preventive Maintenance – Vibrations based condition Monitoring for Vital & Essential Non-Spared Rotating Equipments (Critical Production Equipment),
  • Preventive Maintenance – Oil Analysis based condition Monitoring
  • Preventive Maintenance – Vibrations based condition Monitoring for Safety Critical Equipment  – i.e. Fire Water Pumps, Foam Pumps, Emergency Genset Engine, Emergency Instrument Air Compressor,
  • Preventive Maintenance – Vibrations based condition Monitoring for Essential Spared Rotating Equipment.
  • Preventive Maintenance – Critical Production Equipment Major Inspection & Major Overhaul
  • Technical Proactive Monitoring – ESP to support RE Engineer and ESP Operation

In Order to achieve targeted high Plant Availability and Reliability for All the rotating equipment and turbo machineries in Shell MDS Facilities, the candidate is expected:

  • To be able to do analysis for vibration data and provide recommendations
  • To be able to interpret the lube oil Analysis results and provide recommendations
  • To provide support in work processes to identify, raise Job notification, do inspection on Spare Parts for vital & essential non-spared rotating equipment/turbo machinery in Shell MDS Plant.
  • To be Site focal or To provide support to Site focal point (engineer) as assigned for Rotating Equipment scopes for planned major overhaul and major inspection as per Shell MDS annual business plan
  • To be Site focal point or provide support to Area RE Engineer when assigned for Rotating Equipment scopes for major overhaul and major inspection for every Plant Turnaround campaign.
  • To be familiar with Computerized Asset Maintenance Management System (SAP), ME processes for tasks like Job Notification, Work Order, Planning & Scheduling process, Time Confirmation, TECO (technical completion).

Rotating Equipment Problem Management

  • To participate or to provide support during Root Cause Analysis, Bad Actor Elimination.
  • To participate or to provide support during rotating equipment problem(s) troubleshooting.

Development and Maintenance of Procedures and Standards

  • To provide support during development of work instructions, work procedure, external & internal audits (FAIR, HSSE-CF, AMS etc) in order to improve operational, maintenance, work quality, avoiding rework in adherence to company safety and engineering requirements.

Methodology and Tool

  • To keep update with Vibration tools & technology, analysis techniques, measurement tools
  • Responsible to raise work order/purchase requisition to calibrate vibrations measurement tools and acoustic measurement tools
  • Manage and maintain all the Condition Monitoring tools

Networking and Relationship Building with Internal/External Parties

  • Establish and maintain relationship and communication with internal and external stakeholders such Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer, Rotating Equipment Engineer, Operations department, Technologist department, other engineering discipline, warehouse, senior buyers.

What you bring

We are keen to explore candidates who have:

  • Min. 5 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas/petrochemical plant of a Rotating Equipment Technician role.
  • Background in mechanical work and maintenance of rotating equipment
  • Diploma or higher qualification in Engineering, preferably in Rotating Equipment or Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant working experience in Oil and Gas
