The new SEAM organization integrates Safety, Environment & Asset Management activities, with a broad geographical footprint, that will support Shell’s business & assets around the world.

The vision of SEAM is to provide capability across the spectrum of Safety, Environment and Asset Management with:

  • shaping the future ways of working through introducing to the business new technology and news way of working, including e.g., digital, SBO, and real-time, data-driven, end-to-end optimization and risk management, but also global programs like Human Performance Based Safety Philosophy.

  • helping the businesses build their improvement plans and provide support to execute them.

The Engineer Associate Digital and Drw Mgmt – ADT will be part of the VP TAO organization

The VP TAO will be accountable for maximizing integrated business value across the organization. Technical Asset Operations (TAO) is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell’s Asset Management System and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Downstream Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes.

Purpose & Accountabilities

  • Review red line markup (RLM) changes in technical drawings, collaborating with team members, incorporating revisions, and contributing to overall work quality.
  • Relevant experience in onshore/offshore Energy industries in engineering designing in FEED, Detail Engineering and As-built process.
  • Monitors functional mailbox for Document Turnovers on daily basis and prioritizes the completion of these document turnovers based on agreed criteria and in line with asset standards.
  • Understands data related maintenance reports, equipment drawings, circuit diagrams, P&IDs, operation, and maintenance manuals of OEMs for Energy domain operations. Understanding the functions of the various equipment’s /instruments and knowledge of reading/ interpreting the engineering drawings (P&IDs, PEFS, PFDs) is an advantage.
  • Proficient in interpreting and understanding corrections, redline markups, and updates across related engineering drawings.
  • Opens each drawing or document and performs quality check based on the Asset’s Document Management standards - returns document turnovers to the originator that don’t meet baseline quality standards. Sends required notifications and closes document turnover per instruction when complete.
  • Updates/Amend documents to SharePoint, adds metadata as per work instruction.

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong aptitude for Learner Mindset
  • The successful candidate should have Graduate or Master’s Engineering degree with 2+ years of relevant industry experience or 4+ years relevant experience in Instrumentation / Mechanical.
  • Excellent knowledge and hands on experience on at least one of AVEVA P&ID,  additional knowledge of Micro Station/autocad applications familiarity with Markups, understanding of Schematics with 2D.
  • Knowledge in Design Engineering standards for PEFS.
  • Skilled in SharePoint, MS tools & Adobe
  • Basic knowledge of Document work process and process flow.
  • Should have extensive experience as AVEVA P&ID User.
  • Experience in converting non intelligent P&ID to intelligent AVEVA P&ID
  • Understand the completeness and consistency across the entire project for improving quality and reducing rework
  • Strong understanding of fundamentals of mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, civil structural and process discipline required for intelligent P&ID creation.
  • Proficiency in AVEVA P&ID with sound drafting experience and quality check process.
  • Be able to understand and interpret the corrections & redline mark ups done in the drawings and seek clarification with stakeholders.
  • Able to work in smart P&IDs by assigning attributes & meta data to the objects/equipment in the drawing, changing the properties of an object, adding/editing the meta data for the objects in the drawings.
  • Should be able to understand the redline markup in drawing and update accordingly using AVEVA P&ID or MicroStation application

  • Ability to engage and effectively communicate at all levels inside and outside Shell and within different cultural settings.
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement process in TAO
  • Competitive applicants will have a proven track record of delivery in Asset and/or Project.
  • While the hubs will remain the core locations for SEAM, we will continue to use a distributed working model. This means that our preference is to appoint the best candidate for the job on local terms working virtually from their base country.
  • We may make appointments on expatriate terms where it is justified in accordance with the International Mobility criteria for expatriation, but our clear preference is to appoint on local terms and build the local talent pipeline.
  • Positions in SEAM will require global travel and flexibility in working hours to manage communications across time zones to influence and support stakeholders and enable business performance. However, flexibility in recognition of diverse family situations will be considered.
