What’s the role

Commercial Data Science portfolio in finance requires a Process Owner to manage the Project lifecycle processes (and its integrated technical assurance process), the governance process, across the team in multiple locations. The process owner also needs to transform the CDS processes to be more data and insights driven (Digital Program Management), continuously optimize the existing processes to keep the methodology agile and responsive to business needs and reduce time to value delivery

What you’ll be doing

  • Run the CDS processes in fully compliant way
  • Periodically re-evaluate the process methodologies to keep it fit for purpose and agile for value delivery with high quality Interface with IDT/Platform/IRM teams (or any other) which need common technical solutions (like working with IT policies) across the CDS team
  • Enable the data scientists to execute their projects
  • Report on common program metrics through digital apps and present to TD leadership team during QPAs
  • Perform technical reviews of a project as a technical auditor
  • Perform project audits before delivery for process compliance and risks Digital transformation of the CDS process management
  • Work with multi-cultural high-performance teams
  • Transforming PMO organization to be the digital PMO who are fully automated, and data driven in their methods
  • Collaborating with Portfolio managers to ideate and implement innovative process controls that offer least resistance to natural compliance
  • Process level Risk management
  • Managing operational efficiencies
  • Partnering with organizations like IT, Finance (R&A, CI and others) and other Business stakeholders (on need basis) to define ways of working, or resolve complex challenges with win-win approach
  • Work with stakeholders inside the CDS team in operationalizing process changes with clear and practical methods
  • Working with IDT organization in tooling, access and other foundational initiatives that impact the larger CDS organization

What you bring

  • More than 15 years overall working experience, at least 10 relevant working experience in Data Science
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Statistical background
  • Extensive experience in managing large programs that need extensive coordination
  • Experience in operationalizing robust processes with sufficient controls
  • Building data driven decision making culture
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and influencing skills
  • Deep understanding of industry / function and associated processes, data, and systems
  • Strong knowledge of process design and controls
  • Strong knowledge of data science best practices to be able to do technical reviews of the projects as technical auditor
  • Proficient in financial planning for the process
  • Senior leadership reporting (QPA)
  • Communication management across the CDS process
  • Conflict management and consensus building
  • Scrum/agile PM capabilities for supporting the team
  • Manage a team of up to 5 people
  • Strong experience in Data - Data Structures, Data Modelling, Cloud databases/data lakes, Data engineering pipelines, Data quality and stewardship, and other data management processes
  • MI – Reporting solutions, Self service BI platforms, Data Security
  • DIY Applications – Power platform, Azure ML, Alteryx
  • Data Science – Statistical analysis, machine learning and AI
  • Data Science/AI Project lifecycle management and methodologies
  • Strong experience in any of 2 of the following: Python, R, SAS/Matlab, Power BI, Power Apps, Gen AI, Azure ML, Azure cloud platform, ADLS, Databricks etc, SQL
  • Knowledge of Agile / Scrum ways of working
  • Business knowledge of Energy/Oil & Gas - Upstream or Downstream businesses.
  • Functional expertise in any one or more of the following industries / functional areas: Manufacturing/Industrial, Customer/Marketing, Supply Chain/Spend, Finance, Trading & Risk Management
