Job Description

The new SEAM organization integrates Safety, Environment & Asset Management activities, with a broad geographical footprint, that will support Shell’s business & assets around the world.

The vision of SEAM is to provide capability across the spectrum of Safety, Environment and Asset Management with:

  • shaping the future ways of working through introducing to the business new technology and news way of working, including e.g., digital, SBO, and real-time, data-driven, end-to-end optimization and risk management, but also global programmes like Human Performance Based Safety Philosophy.
  • providing performance feedback driving disciplined execution to deliver reliable, predictable results
  • helping the businesses build their improvement plans and provide support to execute them
  • sustaining performance through strong core capabilities (internal, including SBO & contingent) through building expertise and a company-wide consistent approach

The Process Specialist WRFM will be part of the WRFM Operation

The Operations Lead – Well, Reservoir, Facility, Management (WRFM) will be accountable for maximizing integrated business value across the organization. Technical Asset Operations (TAO) is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell’s Asset Management System and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Downstream Manufacturing, Integrated Gas, Conventional Oil and Gas, Deepwater and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes related to Subsurface, Wells, Production, and Production Optimization

Purpose & Accountabilities

  • Act as WRFM Process Specialist for SS&W - Across the Shell assets.
  • Work with Excellence Lead for Process Improvements and Initiatives for Optimization of Process, organization and business enabled values for WRFM and related activities.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary team of geologists, reservoir engineers, production technologists, petrophysicists, surface process engineer to maximize production from the asset through WRFM activities.
  • Report project progress and discuss opportunities for improvement on regular basis with WRFM Operational Lead and Leadership Team of SS&W
  • Accountable for the maturation and execution of the WRFM improvement plan for assets
  • Accountable for staff development and coaching young talents within the organization.
  • Support other parts of the organisation to report asset performance at regular partners / governmental meetings / technical workshop
  • Identify and drive further improvement opportunities (e.g. through application of LEAN methodology) in WRFM opportunity identification, maturation, and execution.
  • Facilitating WRFM delivery for the asset in a functional organization
  • Accountable for the delivery of the asset's Field Development Plans, Asset Reference Plans, Business Planning and Mid Term Production Forecasting
  • Perform pressure transient analysis and productivity analysis to help maximize well/reservoir performance and drive fully integrated management of the assets.  (Ability to run IPSM is not necessary but would be a plus.)
  • Support of Wells, Reservoir, and Facilities Management (WRFM) including interaction with operations, surveillance staff, and offshore
  • Liaise with  multi discipline operations team in design and execution of well and reservoir surveillance ,sampling activities.
  • Provide Reservoir Engineering analyses as required for partner engagements.
  • Tracking and internal and external reporting of WRFM KPIs for the asset , support WRFM tools including standardized delivery of data portals, proposals etc.
  • Driving CI methodologies for WRFM Digitalization, Standardization and Simplification

Required Experience Qualification

  • Petroleum Engineering or related PE Degree in related technical field with 10+ years industry experience complimented by a robust relevant technical skill set is strongly preferred.
  • Strong skills PTA, PVT, and sample analysis will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of field development planning activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well in a diverse, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Deep understanding of WRFM practices and WRFM standards.
  • Broad knowledge of other subsurface, engineering, well services and operations disciplines to liaise effectively with multiple interfaces.
  • Excellent team working skills and ability to effectively consult teams of diverse backgrounds
  • High level of initiative and drive to identify and follow through development opportunities
  • Track record of effective coaching and mentoring is a must   
  • Drive to improve WRFM implementation in a functional organization.
  • High motivation to get things done in a demanding operational environment.
  • Ability to achieve by influencing ,

  • Clear communication in written and spoken English.
