Job Description

The purpose of the Supply Planning is to ensure that the right products are available at assigned location within the Europe and Middle east region in order to fulfill customer orders on-time and in-full.

In order to do so, the Supply Planning organization is responsible for developing and executing an inventory plan for the portfolio under his area of responsibility.

It also includes tracking current inventory, analyzing demand planning data, recommending inventory changes, and managing storage.

Supply Planning community collaborates across the Supply Chain organization but also with Customer Ops & Sales colleagues to maintain smooth operations, monitor material availability and optimize inventories.

Specificity of Senior Supply Planner job

Senior Supply Planners will allocate to the most complex or most impactful plants of the region.

They will also deal with more complex situation when it comes to demand management or supply/demand balance.

Senior Supply Planners will also be deployed to projects or opportunities when their skillset is required.

Senior Supply Planners will also take care of the induction and the training of new joiners.

Accountabilities:
  • Review/release & expedite Production Orders for specific plant
  • Execute Production plan (engagement with Production plant)
  • Monthly buffer Review of locally produced SKUs
  • Red alerts Review locally produced SKUs
  • Backorders Review locally produced SKUs
  • Potential backorders Review locally produced SKUs
  • Perform monthly stock reviews
  • Proactively identify and intervene on cases of overstock in order to maintain actual stock levels within target ranges
  • Maintain medium-term outlook on demand variations and ensure supply chain capacity is adjusted to meet requirements

Challenges:
  • Supply chain planning can be quite challenging due to various factors. Here are some common challenges faced by supply planners:
  • Dealing with Disruptions: Unexpected events like natural disasters, geopolitical conflicts, or economic crises can disrupt supply chains. Adapting quickly and finding alternative solutions becomes crucial.
  • Meeting Current Demand: Balancing supply and demand is essential. During periods of high demand (as seen during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic), ensuring product availability without overstocking is a delicate task.
  • Balancing Inventory and Supply: Maintaining optimal inventory levels while minimizing costs is a constant challenge. Too much inventory ties up capital, while too little can lead to stockouts.
  • Understanding and Predicting Lead Times: Accurate lead time estimation is essential for planning. Delays in production, transportation, or customs can impact supply chain efficiency.
  • Supply planners need to be adaptable, analytical, and proactive to overcome these challenges effectively.


Skills required

  • Bachelor’s or master's degree, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Engineering.
  • Virtual working experience including team, coaching and stakeholder management
  • Strong Excel, pivot and VLOOKUP experience
  • Demonstrated evidence of Enterprise first values and behaviors
  • Strong time management and on time delivery
  • Projects and Change management experience\
  • With Inventory Management experience.
  • With proficiency in Supply Chain Planning.
  • Skilled in business analytics
