Introduction to SEAM:-

The new SEAM organization integrates Safety, Environment & Asset Management activities, with a broad geographical footprint, that will support Shell’s business & assets around the world.

The vision of SEAM is to provide capability across the spectrum of Safety, Environment and Asset Management with:

  • shaping the future ways of working through introducing to the business new technology and news way of working, including e.g. digital, SBO, and real-time, data-driven, end-to-end optimization and risk management, but also global programs like Human Performance Based Safety Philosophy.
  • providing performance feedback driving disciplined execution to deliver reliable, predictable results.
  • helping the businesses build their improvement plans and provide support to execute them.
  • sustaining performance through strong core capabilities (internal, including SBO & contingent) through building expertise and a company-wide consistent approach.

The role of the Operations support with a single asset where TAO teams support. The teams provide remote support for Maintenance Execution, Turn around & related AMS processes.

Accountabilities:

This role will provide production operations support to ensure production excellence in Oil and Gas production facilities. The role is expected to review and support a variety of process and production operations activities at the site and identify production improvement opportunities, cost reductions, process safety assurance and optimize the operating unit assigned to them.

 The activities are deeply integrated into the site work processes and require deep collaboration with production operations and other disciplines and departments at the site. The successful candidate is expected to interact with the onsite production operations unit and supporting staff and will be supporting the Operations and Maintenance Lead in the safe delivery of front line Operations.

Key responsibilities:

HSSE

  • Must demonstrate excellent safety leadership and behaviors, ensuring that Health, Safety & Environmental expectations are communicated, maintained and implemented.
  • Contribute to incident investigations and troubleshooting activities and participate in TOTU (Time out to Understand)
  • Support the management of discipline critical document updates and owner of site Operating procedures and production manuals (POPMs).
  • Support alarm management improvement with regular reviews.

Contract Management

•          Act as an activity owner for Production activities regarding vendor mobilization and query resolution.

•          Act as Contract user/holder (where designated), be familiar with t he terms and conditions and scopes of works. Feedback performance to the Contract holder.

•          Asset liaison focal point for required job.

AMS Processes

Support implementation of AMS processes including:

  • Ensure safe production.
  • Management of Change.
  • Perform Turnarounds.
  • Manage Threats and Opportunities.

Operations

  • Ensure plant surveillance is robust, covers all necessary plant areas and participate daily in an integrated fashion with the operations team.
  • Provide inputs and guidance to the engineers assigned at the asset to ensure assets are operated in a safe, environmentally sound and reliable manner in accordance with license to operate and the defined safe operating envelope.
  • Work as a part of the multidisciplinary support team and provide support to operations team members and discipline engineers for production operations discipline.
  • Set up and monitor appropriate PI screens to support surveillance.
  • Monitor the status of Management of Change and ensure system healthiness. Support concept development of plant changes through MOC process.
  • Take a pivotal role in ensuring that operations integrity is not compromised at the installation through any plant change or operations activity.
  • Be a "champion" to introduce 'Innovation', new ideas and change with respect to the O&M to improve overall performance.
  • Coordinate with Offshore/onshore assets, logistics (marine & Air) and different stake holders as required to execute the planned work.
  • Provide support for installation, inspection and testing of new equipment including participation in HAZOP.
  • Provide Startup support requirements and review of Pre-commissioning procedures and implementation for new equipment.
  • Provide operational support to maintenance activities.
  • Review and challenge effectiveness of Process safety management system.
  • Motivate and coach others in Process Safety Behaviors.
  • Support Continuous Improvement in Production operations. Identify opportunities to improve unit capacity, yield, availability and utilization in support of the site and business plans.
  • Maintain and help develop training materials and guidance manuals designed for operations engineers in conjunction with learning.
  • Maintain up to date Oil and Gas production technology specific knowledge through LFI, technical networks etc to be able to proactively identify threats to the units or business coming from the wider Shell organization or industry knowledge and practices.

Dimensions:-

  • The role will be reporting to TAO Technical Operations Manager of Upstream and will also functionally report to the respective Asset O&M Lead / OMC.
  • This role is expected to support compliance and site standards for technical monitoring process and practices in collaboration with the global work process focal points.
  • Manage stakeholders, namely various business partners in assets & other corporate businesses/ functions as well as internal peers & Extended Leadership Teams.
  • Responsible to mentor coach and support.

Skills & Requirements: -

  • University Degree or equivalent in Chemical engineering discipline with 10-12 years of relevant work experience in Production Operations of Oil & Gas production facilities.
  • Having prior experience in operating onshore/offshore oil and gas production facilities.
  • Shall be fully conversant with all facility activities in order to make on the spot decisions regarding conflicting activities and plant control.
  • Have knowledge on simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), wellhead operations, utility operations and marine logistics.
  • Experience in handling control room activities independently.
  • Domain knowledge of Oil and Gas technology is preferred.
  • Knowledge of integration between process units.
  • Working knowledge of field instrumentation, quality measurement, metering and DCS.

Behavioral Competences:

  • The Team Lead needs to be a self-starter, taking initiatives and able to work without close supervision.
  • An independent worker capable of collaborating in a team environment with an ability to build strong effective relationships with asset production teams while working remotely.
  • Due to multiple/conflicting priorities, candidate needs to be strong in prioritization, managing stakeholder expectations and resilient under pressure.
  • Should be able to guide the team and steer them through the tough/demanding situations and able to contribute fully hands on.
  • Sound understanding of business/process workflow and having mature mindset to deal and behave under tough situations.
  • Keep the team highly motivate and energized. Take proactive and reactive measures in resolving Ethics and Compliance, ER/IR issues.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks and demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
