Purpose:

Responsible for ensuring Trading & Supply- East receivables are collected per terms, ensuring swift dispute resolution and proper actions/escalation occur timely on all past due balances; blending financial credit risk with receivable exposure risk in decision making; and optimizing receivables performance to minimize losses. ​ Acts as the subject matter expert with respect to knowledge of 3rd party overdues, status and actions required to resolve the respectable business/commodity under T&S

Job Description:

  • Provides advice and assistance to FO settlements teams for collecting overdue balances​

  • Connects and collaborates with senior management (VPs, RTLs, GMs, CCMs) on a monthly basis providing updates on overdue issues needing attention​

  • Coordinates with T&S underwriting for actions to reduce/amend credit terms or tenors in response to payment issues/D&B alerts

  • Liaises with Shell legal and compliance for bankruptcy proof of claim submittals and status of existing claims, initiate external attorney placements assuring proper internal approvals and legal remedies are utilized to recover aged receivables timely​

  • Engages external counterparties for discovery on overdue balances and payment solutions

Accountabilities:

  • Proactively manage global 3rd party receivables portfolio for Shell T&S divisions, provide vision and recommend/deliver business strategies up to Head of UW and RRM and appropriately escalate/communicate knowledge of customers which threaten non-payment or potential for default

  • Produce and continually review/modify KPI's and global aged receivable dashboards to drive desired results, review, assess and submit provisions for doubtful debts or write offs to appropriate Finance Managers or VP per MOA, ensure proper collateral utilization globally when delinquencies occur.​

  • Drives global targets to ensure cash flow is maximized and bad debt is minimized to enable business growth.

  • Consistently provide vision and recommend/deliver business strategies (agreed to with Finance Operations) which will increase efficiencies and the effectiveness of collection efforts to support long term sustainable performance results.

Requirements:

  • min of 8 yrs. in processing ageing receivables & unpaid invoices.

  • exposure in data analytics (big data) is highly preferred

  • Strong communications skills (both written and verbal)

  • Bachelor's degree in finance

  • solid understanding of credit risk principles and credit terms

  • Excellent attention to detail, methodical, organized.
