What’s the role

As the SA BD Manager, your role is to help SHELL shape its future fluid portfolio and customer sectors by creating future business models with its global key customers, choosing the right partners and alliances to grow and expand SHELL’s fluids footprint, and identifying new industries needing fluid. You will report to the New Sectors Alliances team lead, who sits under the GM of New Sectors & Business Development. Consequently, you will interact with GM and VP levels both internally and externally. The SA team will focus on three major themes: EV mobility, digitalization including aftermarket evolution, and sustainability including recycling and reuse of BEV batteries. You will work in close collaboration with the GKA, NBD, Low Carbon Solutions, Mobility, RES, Technology, and New Energies teams.

What you’ll be doing

With the fast shift to electrication, it is key to find other source of revenues and business models to compensate for the loss of revenues on aftermarket sales. It is very important to position SHELL on the electric battery value chain to identify how to make profit with our partners as well as develop new revenues streams.

Responsibilities of this role includes:

  • Builds prospection pipeline of potential alliances/partners which will help us transform our lubricant business in the region: 3rd parties - battery OEMs - Recycling

  • Design the future business model and maps out how SHELL can operate with the alliance: interactions, integration in our operations and set potential growth target

  • Set up the pilots to test out the business models and do the engagements to get approval and support required

  • Coordinate with wider SHELL organisation to build the opportunity pipeline and maximise the E2E projected value as well as ensure that the business opportunity is coherent with SHELL's overall strategy

  • Lead the negotiation with the partner to set up the alliance with the support of a core team

  • Support the GKA team by designing a commercially viable integrated offer for their GKAs with clearly identified value streams and implementation plan

  • Demonstrate a customer centricity & Enterprise 1st approach: CRM KPIs - Cash management - collaborate and share information between the various SHELL teams

  • Deliver a personal Goal Zero and promote the values of SHELL (ethics & compliance etc)

What you bring

  • Preferably holds a master’s degree in business degree or/and in an engineering background

  • Mastery in project Management: Analytical - structured & action driven

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships across a deep and wide range of internal and external stakeholders: GM/VP level

  • Mastery in negotiation and customer relationship

  • Has strong drive and ability to ability to work in an autonomous manner be self-starter and delivery focused

  • The ability to influence and deliver through others without formal authority is an essential skill required to be successful in this assignment

  • Creativity: ability to think out of the box

  • Strong strategic mindset

  • Very good level of English and any additional language is a plus
