What’s the role?

The Industrial Automation and Control Systems Lead understands, delivers or improves the range of activities necessary to seamlessly integrate and operate one of the world’s largest IT estates. The scope covers service management activities, Hybrid on premise and Cloud operational landscapes with many integration points; and the integration of the interdependent services of diverse internal and external service providers into end-to-end services which deliver value to Shell.

The purpose of the role is to manage the 24/7 operational IT delivery of the IACS Operate services to the Wells global business around Shell’s “WellVantage” assets. This covers all WellVantage and supporting applications as well as “real-time” drilling data sharing with Shell business users and 3rd parties anywhere in the world. The Manager ensures that services are delivered in a safe, secure, reliable and affordable manner to meet agreed service levels.

Accountabilities:

  • Operationally accountable for the IACS Operate Model in the WellVantage space.
  • Ensure a proactive approach to the Health and Safety of team members and Supplier staff.
  • Ensure that service level agreements are in place, evergreen and meeting the needs of the business stakeholders.
  • Manage the compliance level of WellVantage, and supporting applications, to the IACS specifications set by Shell.
  • Manage the delivery of security and compliance around the WellVantage landscape.
  • Manage IT service costs and billing to the business using robust costs models for services delivered. Identify areas to reduce service cost, eliminate waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Report service performance on a monthly basis and undertake activities to ensure that KPI's are met.  Undertake analysis of service performance data of own and 3rd party service delivery. Identify trends & systemic issues, instigate problem management and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure ITIL processes are adhered and that asset and configuration systems are accurate.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks to ongoing service and maintain a risk register with the business. Ensure relevant information security controls are in place.
  • Ensure effective management of significant and recurring service impacts and bring parties together to ensure prompt resolution and follow up.
  • Support anything IACS relevant with new service developments and enhancements ensuring appropriate transition to support and sign-off.

What we need from you?

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • Strong Focus on Health and Safety.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Degree Required, IT degree preferred.
  • Experience around security related items.
  • Strong Stakeholder Management, relationship and negotiation skills to work with multiple stakeholders across organizational and business boundaries at all levels.
  • Highly motivated with experience of influencing a high performing global team.
  • Proven ability to deliver results in a matrix organization driving delivery excellence through influence and team working. Ability to deal with conflict and ambiguity effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing delivery of Wells Real Time Drilling IT Operations.
  • Good understanding of the Well Delivery business and Wells Business terminology.
  • 3rd party supplier management skills.
  • Industry Information Security certification (CISA, CISSP, etc).
  • IACS security experience.
