Retail Development Lead - Houston, TX
What’s the role -
The Development Team Lead is responsible for the strategic planning, project management, and financial oversight related to the construction of new Jiffy Lube service centers across the United States in support of our company operated service centers.
The Development Team Lead will be responsible of the following
Manage E2E delivery of new Jiffy Lube Multicare centers including site identification, contracting, due diligence, entitlements, construction and finally handover to the operational business unit through the Development Team.
The Team is comprised of both internal staff and functions as well as external support resources to orchestrate and execute the needs for delivery through others.
The Lead will drive these resources towards meeting the business growth objectives by keeping the pipeline of properties full, taking those properties to contracts, taking those deals through entitlements and permits and ultimately constructing a Jiffy Lube Multicare Center.
Other responsibilities include CAPEX budget estimating, forecasting, management, and reporting.
GSAP is the ERP system, so an understanding some of the functionality is key
Other aspects include commercial strengths with Real Estate deal making, material suppliers and general contracting
The role will include contract review and commentary for real estate contracts as well as material & labor contracts
The Lead will work in support of a Goal Zero Safety delivery and be responsible for safety performance for projects and all direct reporting staff
The Lead will interface and influence design and standards for Jiffy Lube.
In support of delivering the new Jiffy Lube service centers, the Development Team Lead will be expected to coach, develop and mentor a team of real estate and construction professionals
Skills & Requirements
What we need from you -
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, and/or Construction Management or equivalent experience
Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in the development, design and construction of single tenant retail outlets
Experience in construction of single tenant retail outlets is a must
Experience in leading and developing teams to deliver projects on time and on budget
Experience with ground up development projects, including entitlements & municipal approvals.
Self-starter with a high level of organizational skills.
Be able to demonstrate attention to detail and process
Single site retail development is a plus
Strong interpersonal skills ,including communications in both written and oral are a must
A commercial mindset is needed
