What’s the role
The IT Business Analyst is responsible for identifying and defining the business needs of their clients and stakeholders and helping to determine solutions to meet business needs or resolve business problems. This work is typically within a specific business area. The role may be part of an IT project development environment or an individual contributor at the business interface.
What you’ll be doing
Linking technical solutions with business strategy when working with business partners
Applying knowledge of how competitors use IT solutions to gain a competitive edge
Leading stakeholder management activities and creating opportunities to build trust and make stakeholders feel valued
Providing interpretive, advisory, or facilitative services using broad and specialized knowledge to help others achieve results
Volunteering for community leadership roles and supporting regional networks through leading activities, presenting topics, and coaching
Coaching at least one IT Business Analyst (JG 5 or 6)
Contributing to the creation of new best practice materials by identifying gaps and serving as a subject matter expert (SME) for specific tools, techniques, or business areas
Participating in industry-related IT BA activities (e.g., IIBA webcasts or chapter meetings) and applying and sharing learnings within Shell
What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in IT or a related field
10+ years of corporate IT experience, including 4+ years as an IT Business Analyst
Strong knowledge in Trading and Supply (required)
Hands-on experience with Endur (required)
Proficiency in Cmotion, Deal Capture (Front Office), Settlements & Accounting (Back Office), and Tax
Skilled in business analysis techniques and tools
Agile project experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Familiarity with current and emerging technologies, or ability to quickly learn them
Ability to act as a focal point for a specialized technical or business area
User-focused mindset with a deep understanding of interactive systems
Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills
Solid understanding of business process improvement, benefits, and risk management
What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $122,000 - $180,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
