Position is open for part-time (50%) and for 1 year only with the possibility of extension.

Associate in MIT Department is responsible for executing Tax Compliance for low risk Shell entities. Through that, the person is protecting Shell License to Operate and has direct impact on securing company cash by avoiding penalties & interests resulting from Tax incompliance.

Manage Indirect Tax Krakow department is covering Indirect Tax Compliance for Shell entities in Europe, Latin America, Middle East, Africa and Kazakhstan. We prepare annually around 11.000 returns and we initiate around 8.000 Tax payments. We work on a daily basis with other departments across Finance and the Business to protect Shell License to Operate by ensuring that all Legal & fiscal requirements are met.

What you will do:

  • Prepare and File Tax Returns
  • Secure timely tax payments
  • Prepare other Tax-related reporting activities, which are required by the law (examples: Intrastat, Statistical reporting etc)
  • Respond to internal and external audit requests related to assigned scope
  • Perform tax related accounting activities
  • If needed, gather and reconcile Tax & Finance data to support Tax return preparation process for assigned scope
  • Continuously analyze risk vs value status for assigned scope and raise all situations, when suspicious, non standard trends are noticed
  • Report KPIs/Metrics: understand metrics concept & definitions, ensuring first time right inputs, analyze performance of own scope based on metrics’ trends from previous periods and drive improvements if need (both compliance & data metrics)

System & Data related activities:

  • Acting in line with ISM (Integrated Support Model) for all systems and applications within IT landscape of assigned scope: reaching out to respective Super User and following up on systems’ issues
  • Responsibility for good quality of Data needed to prepare assigned Tax returns; detect and flag issues with Data quality within assigned scope

What we need from you:

  • University degree, preferred in Accounting/Finance/Tax
  • Accounting/Finance/Tax experience: nice to have
  • Indirect Tax knowledge at awareness level:
  • Experience in using SAP: nice to have
  • Awareness about the basic functions in MS Excel
  • Awareness about Tax Control Room and Digital Transformation strategy/opportunities
  • Ability to work with large number of data including analyzing, verifying and improving data quality
  • Experience in using tools for MIT compliance (GTIL/Comply/other): nice to have
  • English language level B2/C1
