About the Role:

Are you a seasoned professional in credit risk management with a strategic mindset? Do you have a passion for people and driving business results? Shell is seeking an experienced Credit Manager to join our dynamic team and lead the end-to-end credit process for our Operating Units (OU) and Lines of Business (LoB) in the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of up to 16 analysts, fostering a high-performance culture. The role will focus on individual and team development, thereby strengthening credit competencies, including competences fit-for future business needs, establishing “stretch” goals to drive performance and embedding a culture of delivery to targets via regular coaching and performance appraisal.

  • Act as the primary contact for all credit-related inquiries within supported OU & LoB.

  • Participate in the commercial deal process to optimize business returns by providing commercial insights, solutions, and advice.

  • Manage customer assessments, establish risk ratings, and recommend appropriate credit terms.

  • Develop and execute credit risk strategies aligned with business risk appetite.

  • Manage high-risk situations/trigger events and negotiate security necessary to support higher risk exposures.

  • Analyze credit exposures and reassess customer creditworthiness.

  • Proactively manage blocked orders/accounts and ensure business continuity.

  • Oversee accurate and timely cash application and debt collection processes.

  • Manage bad debt portfolios and ensure compliance with legal and fiscal requirements.

  • Engage with key stakeholders to align objectives and deliver functional plans.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal customers (Sales, OTC, Finance, Legal, etc.) and external third-party trade customers and agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in financial/accounting roles.

  • 3+ years of managerial experience overseeing teams of at least 10 analysts.

  • Strong understanding of credit management processes.

  • Experience in multinational companies.

  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in other local languages is an asset.

  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing environments.
