You will be responsible for leading activities to generate and maximize value from data. This is a unique opportunity to own all aspects of exploiting and monetizing data, coordinating across all areas in Retail to strategically advance our competitive advantage and support the 2025 Retail Ambitions. The role is also responsible for leveraging external data acquired by Retail through effective processes to identify, select, procure, store and use external data sources.
The Retail Data and Analytics team consist of talented and impactful people that are responsible for providing the Retail business, both globally and locally, with the right data and insight, identifying and extracting value and ensure effective data management.
Shell retail is the number 1 mobility retailer in the world, serving 30 million + customers per day, across 70+ markets through 44k+ locations. Leading Data Monetization opportunities:
Lead the development of the Retail Data monetization framework, collaborating with Shell’s Data Privacy and Legal teams to assess opportunities with appropriate consideration to risk control and data privacy
Lead evaluation of potential business models and exploration of commercialization alternatives for data monetization and identification of routes to market
Manage all activities associated with opportunities in data monetization: e.g. data readiness and execution, commercial terms agreements, identification of subscribers and use cases, opportunity framing, definition of support team etc.
Leading external data acquisition to complement Retail existing data and enhance insight generation
Lead a coordinated approach for purchasing and leveraging external data sources in Retail
Develop guidelines and supporting process for purchasing, storing and leveraging of external data
Maximizing Data value generation activities
Responsible to maximize value delivery from analytical projects
Develop effective tools for value tracking
Lead activities to improve forecasting of value from initiatives, tracking and sign off
