We are seeking a Legal & Commercial Advisor to support our growing portfolio, particularly with Shell’s Non-Operated Ventures (NOVs), where innovation meets partnership.

What’s the Role?

As a Legal & Commercial Advisor, you will play a critical role in shaping and securing complex, high-value commercial agreements. You will be the go-to expert on deal structuring, contract drafting, and commercial advisory services related to licensing and services, helping Shell and our partners navigate the energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

Contracting & Deal Support

  • Draft a range of commercial agreements including technology license agreements, service agreements, NDAs, and more.
  • Analyze, interpret, and advise on contract terms, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Support commercial teams with tailored advice on deal structuring and contract strategy.
  • Liaise closely with Shell Legal, IP, and Finance teams to ensure compliance and business alignment.
  • Mentor and advise Account Analysts supporting NOV business.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with senior stakeholders including NOV Commercial Teams, Asset Support Managers, and Shell’s legal and finance departments.
  • Represent Business Advisory in internal meetings, ensuring alignment with Shell’s strategic goals and legal frameworks.

What We’re Looking For

Expertise & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) required; Postgraduate qualifications in Legal Practice or Master of Law (LLM) highly desirable.
  • Qualified Legal Practitioner preferred with 3–5 years PQE. Alternatively, a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a relevant legal/commercial advisory capacity within the energy or technology sectors.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Advanced contracting skills with proven ability to translate technical and commercial input into accurate, risk-aware agreements.
  • Strong understanding of Intellectual Property considerations and legal risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Business-minded with the ability to offer practical, creative, and commercially viable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage global workloads and prioritize under pressure.

Language Proficiency

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
