
Trading Settlements & Accounting Analyst
As a Trading Settlements & Accounting Analyst, you will contribute to the effective and compliant delivery of settlement processes, ensuring accurate financial execution and supporting key business partners in one of Shell’s most dynamic areas.
Your Role: What You’ll Do
As a key team member in the Trading Settlements team, you’ll help manage complex operational processes, contribute to effective financial controls, and act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
•Executing operational activities in line with service standards, KPIs, and internal controls.
•Ensuring accurate and timely settlement of financial transactions, account reconciliations, and receivables.
•Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes.
•Managing customer and counterparty queries with professionalism and urgency.
•Maintaining audit-ready documentation and responding to internal and external audit queries.
•Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, and process excellence.
•Supporting a culture of operational discipline, ownership, and knowledge sharing across the team.
•Acting as a process expert and providing guidance to less experienced colleagues.
What We Need from You
We are looking for someone detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about finance operations.
You should have:
•A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related business field.
•Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and end-to-end processes (especially AP/AR).
•Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with systems (e.g., SAP, Power BI, or similar tools).
•Fluency in English (minimum B2 level).
•A continuous improvement mindset and ability to challenge the status quo constructively.
•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and cultures.
•High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive work ethic.
