What’s the role?

As the Electrical Discipline Engineer, you will report to the Maintenance Manager and shall deliver support and services in collaboration with the electrical discipline team, Asset team and Modifications Team to achieve safe, effective, efficient and reliable production. This entails delivery in Operational Excellence in a strong continuous improvement culture in HSSE, asset integrity, production, minor projects pre- decision projects pre-decision gate, Simplified plant change and cost leadership.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Compliance with Legal requirements and Shell standards
  • RRM Analysis (RCM; RBI, SIL, etc.)
  • Relevant Performance Standards
  • Capability of the discipline (competence & resources, coaching & mentoring)
  • Contract management per Category Management & Contracting Process (CMCP)
  • Ensure Compliance to Norwegian legal requirements:" Etterlevelse av petroleumsregelverkets krav til ansvarshavende for elektriske anlegg"

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain maintenance strategies, procedures and instructions and discipline documents
  • Ensure that necessary contracts relevant for the discipline are in place and are managed
  • Maintain and optimize asset register and maintenance program, including spare parts evaluation, SCE’s and Performance Standards to ensure the long-term reliability of the facility in accordance with the business plan
  • Input to Asset Care Plan and associated Business Planning/Maintenance Budget
  • Risks assess deviations in deviation process
  • Give input to and carry out, internal discipline audits according to assurance plan. Attend internal and external audits e.g. from authorities
  • Discipline approval of chemicals and evaluate substitution
  • The Discipline engineer is responsible for input of own installation activities (according to IAP procedure and Work Instruction) into the Medium-Term Integrated Activity Plan (MT IAP) as soon the activity is identified. This includes PM activities
  • Attend incident investigations

Discipline specific Responsibilities:

  • Ensure competence requirements within discipline are defined and ensure that requirements are met and documented. Also provide mentoring for technical/operational personnel of organization
  • Technical specific duties and responsibilities:
    • Owner of all generators for power production
    • Owner of all 420kV, 132kV, 22kV, 11kV, 690V, 400V and 230V transformers, switchgear and distribution panels
    • Owner of all UPS and distribution panels
    • Owner of all VSD’s for motor control
    • Owner of all motors and their protection relays
    • Owner of ignition and Ex control

Key Dimensions:

  • Act as contract holder and perform contract audits
  • As Electrical Discipline Engineer, you will execute “go see”, health checks and assurance activities for the discipline; ensure compliance with Norwegian legislation
  • As Electrical Discipline Engineer, you will report and inform operator of Nyhamna in accordance with ‘Nyhamna Samarbeidsprosedyre”

What we need from you

  • Bachelor (BEng) degree or Masters (MSc) degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Significant or relevant experience in electrical/ design engineering within maintenance and brownfield modifications
  • Compliance to FEK §7 part 1, meeting the requirements to possess the role as stand in for “Ansvarshavende for elektriske anlegg”
  • Good verbal and written communication in English and Norwegian (Norwegian Language is required). This includes writing technical documents as well as presenting results concisely to internal and/or external audience
  • Self-driven and strong finishing capability
  • Proven interpersonal and relationships skills in complex environments
  • Seek and understand assets priorities and adapt continuously
  • Excellent leadership capabilities and behaviours in line with Shell’s Leadership Framework and agile leadership principles
  • Proven delivery of Goal Zero HSSEQ target in Production Management
  • Lean Practitioner
  • Exhibits a strong sense of curiosity, adaptability, resilience, ownership, collaboration skills and drive for continuous learning and improvement
