The role of the Commercial Advisor supports Shell Peru Governance Team in maximizing value from Shell’s investments in Peru, in line with Shell strategy and Control Frameworks. This position provides an excellent opportunity to engage in all aspects of asset governance, especially on commercial side. Relationships will be handled primarily with internal stakeholders at the GM level, but also with external stakeholders.

Additionally, the Commercial Advisor will lead operational and administrative activities for Shell’s domestic LNG business in Peru and assist in identifying new profitable business opportunities and potential customers. The role involves managing a New Business Development portfolio, delivering projects end-to-end, and providing analysis to support more complex initiatives.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

Shell GNL asset management

  • Manage daily operations of the business
  • Manage relationship with existing customers within massification project framework
  • Report financials and volumes monthly
  • Implement Continuous Improvement in Shell GNL business through digitalization, lessons learned program and visual management
  • Define and execute account strategies, manage customer relationships, and seek business development opportunities to achieve Shell’s objectives
  • Communicate product benefits, develop customer-focused offers, coordinate with the supply chain, and optimize pricing
  • Utilize knowledge of business to recommend solutions
  • Maintain an overview of Governance objectives, risks, mitigation actions, and stakeholder engagements
  • Plan and execute low-to-high complexity projects, articulate benefits, monitor progress, mitigate risks, and utilize digital tools to drive successful outcomes
  • Optimize the entire value chain by considering price, cost, and working capital, and collaborate with partners to enhance profitability and reduce costs

JV asset management

  • Prepare and report for internal and external stakeholder visits, identify and act on value-capturing opportunities, engage and collaborate with stakeholders, leverage customer insights for growth, and drive value-based conversations
  • Provide analysis (including the development of economic models) and comments on documents for board meetings
  • Contribute to economic analysis of project proposals leveraging accounting and economic insights
  • Track and analyze commercial performance, business and market trends to input business decisions and strategies
  • Maintain an overview of Governance objectives, risks, mitigation actions, and stakeholder engagements

New Business Development

  • Analyze business opportunities in New Energies by monitoring landscape of renewable energies in country
  • Develop regular market updates for senior Shell management.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong analytical thinking and passion for learning.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Sales and Customer Operations processes, effective communication techniques, and customer needs anticipation.
  • Knowledge of pricing concepts, policies, cost drivers, performance reports, and pricing tools to effectively manage price changes, monitor KPIs, and optimize pricing strategies in alignment with business objectives and customer alternatives.
  • Ability to work alongside a multicultural team with varying degrees of experience in the sector.
  • Strong influencing skills and a comprehensive understanding of the contracting management framework
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and process multiple issues simultaneously, from day-to-day activities to strategic thinking.
  • Native level of both Spanish and English, written and oral.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
  • Innovative way of thinking centered on problem solving.
