Head of Commercial Delivery and Operations
The Role
Shell aims to significantly reduce its Carbon footprint and has the ambitions to be a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050 or sooner. Shell Energy (SE) and Renewables and Energy Solutions (RES) have developed an Integrated Power Strategy that will enable Shell’s ambitions to reduce its Carbon footprint and to become the leading Power player in the World.
As an integral part of this Integrated Power Strategy, Shell Energy (SE) and Renewables and Energy Solutions (RES) want to substantially grow the European B2B Gas and Power supply and sales business across European countries. Shell Energy (SE) and Renewables and Energy Solutions (RES) have established a commercial business (RES Europe B2B Retail) which will provide energy commodities (gas & power, off-sets) and energy solutions to B2B, including Commercial and Industrial customers.
What is the role?
The Head of Commercial Delivery and Operations will report to the General Manager B2B and will be a key member of the leadership team for this business. You will design, own, and deliver the B2B Europe transformation agenda and act as the strategic advisor to the GM B2B Europe and the VP Europe leadership team.
You will establish and lead a new function. You will need to set the direction and deliver clear and measurable business outcomes to increase customer numbers and topline growth, improve customer satisfaction metrics, reduce the cost to serve, and drive higher margins through the design and the implementation of fit for purpose and efficient procedures, processes and associated systems.
In establishing the Commercial Delivery and Operations function, you will clearly articulate to stakeholders the value and the contribution of this function to B2B Europe, generate buy-in, and “pull” from internal customers to deliver the strategic transformation needs. In particular, you will design a detailed process of implementing the power strategy for B2B Europe.
You will be an internal ambassador for B2B Europe, clearly communicating transformation agenda and status at both senior (VP/EVP) levels to all relevant commercial and functional stakeholders both within RES and across RDS and ensure business stakeholders are regularly updated on relevant projects within the transformation portfolio.
You will need to oversee, understand and monitor daily operations across the markets and intervene when quality or timing objectives are not being met, or when priorities evolve.
You will provide capability in process design and the application of data and technology to support the delivery of business objectives. You will be acting as the voice of the business in making sure to provide inputs into system design and to process owners. You will need to steer and coach Process Owners in the development and innovation of processes in the business.
Initial transformation delivery priorities will include oversight of the following programs:
Metering, Invoicing & Operations: Create fully automated and scalable core/back-office systems and processes
Supply Function: Enhance alignment and the digital interface between Trading and sales
Digital Customer Experience: Develop a digitally enabled end to end customer experience
New & Innovative CVPs: Rapidly innovate products and services exploiting continuously evolving value pools
You will need to secure qualified resources to deliver the transformation agenda where necessary, either via direct reports, contractors, or via matrix resources from inside of Shell, and build a collaborative culture of continuous improvement and learning.
