The Role

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Primary purpose of the job is to support the FO Data QA and Reporting team and Senior Process Specialist in driving the data quality and improvement agenda for LSC (Lubes), Fuels, Specialties, Trading and Chemicals.
  • Demonstrate ownership on Product’s Data Quality Compliance.
  • Maintain and play an active role in creating business value through initiatives that will promote data quality assurance in FO Product and Business operations.
  • Support Product team and business on Data cleansing activities including build and execution of data quality plans and strategies, design and automate business reporting needs, deliver business improvement initiatives including cost of poor data quality projects and support business with data profiling and data initiatives to provide insights and improvements for business strategies.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop a thorough knowledge of the end to end process of Product Lifecycle Management and all the business it supports - Lubricants, Fuels, Specialities and Trading to be able to drive data quality and process improvements including data profiling and data analysis.

Implements strategic data cleansing activity to achieve the agreed Data quality metrics and targets quality compliance through data analysis, stakeholder engagement and mistake proofing.

Drive the maintenance of correct data in system, performs Error Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Use data profiling, data analysis for query building and maintenance of new DQS (Data Quality Standards) for auto data cleanse and ruleset improvements.

Lead and drive issue resolution concerning data quality in Product Data and Business operation.

Proactively identify areas for improvement in the process to ensure quality data such as mistake proofing.

Ensure all data quality processes are supported by approved process flows, functional specifications, data quality rules standars and standard operating procedure

Lead Improvement projects like Cost of Poor Data Quality, Data Cleansing, Data profiling and business rules creation.

High interaction with Business Partner(s) and Stakeholders, especially during data cleansing, quality issue resolution and project implementations.

High collaboration with Product sub-teams to manage Quality compliance.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Graduate of any 4 year course

High interest on Data Quality initiatives/activities. Understanding of MRD, Product lifecycle management, Data and its impact on cost of poor data quality

Must have experience in Project management and Lean/Six Sigma methodology and can identify improvement needs and deliver projects

Strong problem solving and analytical mindset and able to handle complex issues and technical error handling

Demonstrate Product process expertise, Experience w/SAP on MM module and knowledge of non-SAP ERP’s (including trading related systems)

Detailed, resourceful, analytical, creative and collaborative. Ability to perform data/process research activity

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, work with minimal supervision, have sense of ownership, open to new ideas and a team player

Knowledge on Data Analytics or Data Profiling

Knowledge of SOX and business controls.

Strong communication skills and ability to influence and motivate others in a global environment. Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, and able to interact and negotiate.

Strong Stakeholder engagement and management skills including problem solving and analytical skills

Preferably with some technical knowledge particularly in Spotfire, Power BI, MS office tools (Access and Excel). VBA macro, SAP scripting, VBS and SQL knowledge would be an advantage

Financial Dimensions
Data Product has $6M USD targeted direct benefits using a combination of FTE cost reductions and Non-FO L1 benefits from automaiton and improvement projects

Responsible for accuracy and quality of the data passing through the hands of the analysts

Support process, controls, improvement initiatives including cost of poor data quality, auto data cleanse, data profiling and analytics.

Business Dimensions
Product Team manages the master-data related processes involved in Product Lifecycle Management and Supply Chain processes of the downstream businesses.  Lubricants comprises 70% of the total portfolio with T&S, Specialities, Chemicals, Marine, comprising the remainder. 

More business support services are expected as the businesses embark in their respective data and digital journeys. 

Improvement projects > 10 per year, with average target of U$5-10mln p.a.

Key Challenges

  • Understanding of Product Data usage and data movement in business process.
  • Operating a standard process with different ERP’s
  • Multiple countries in scope and number of businesses operating in different markets, with different cultures and potentially conflicting priorities.
  • Effective business knowledge and organizational understanding in order to build and drive data quality and right first time for the business, aswell as provide reports and insights for better understanding of business needs.
  • Virtual working with key stakeholders.
  • Working in a dynamic, high energy and virtual envirornment.
