The new SEAM organization integrates Safety, Environment & Asset Management activities, with a broad geographical footprint, that will support Shell’s business & assets around the world.

The Associate Engineer – DataDoc Mgmt will be part of the VP TAO organization.

The VP TAO will be accountable for maximizing integrated business value across the organization. Technical Asset Operations (TAO) is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell’s Asset Management System and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Downstream Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes.

What's the role?
• Assists with the implementation of Data/Document Control procedures and operationalising systems, processes and work instructions as per the Information Management Plan. Ensures Data/Document Management consistency across all Projects, rigorously, often times maintaining control and traceability of the documentation from Project initiation throughout to completion for a portfolio of small to medium sized projects.
• Advises stakeholders including the Business, IT, Technical Data Management, Digital Centre of Excellence and Finance & Data Operations in assisting with the implementation of Data/Document Control procedures and operationalising systems, processes and work instructions as per the Information Management Plan. Provides more limited assistance and first level support to educate individuals and teams on Data/Document Management compliance requirements.
• Deploys standard techniques to solve Data/Document Management issues.
• Works under direct supervision of Manager / Team Lead for moderately complex activities; broad guidance on operational activities.
• Works closely with senior technical member of the team or subject matter expert whenever applicable to provide value added services to partners.

Purpose & Accountabilities

  • Knowledge of data & document control procedures covering data validation and handover to Operations, based on the Company specific data & document control delivery procedure and Industry standards e.g. CFIHOS.
  • Support the preparation of specifications for data (requirement, control, delivery) based on Company procedures and standards.
  • Prepare and maintain project reference data libraries for each data-oriented application.
  • Manage collection, integration, and validation of data/doc from contractors and/or internal project stakeholders into central data/doc repository.
  • Prepare, issue and monitor data and document performance reports (status, progress and forecast).
  • Provide quality insights based on data and document performance reports.
  • Well versed with document management system such as ASSAI, AIM-EDMS (Doc Management tool), AVEVA (Engineering Data Warehouse), CMMS (SAP) for the purposes of run & maintain, assurance, system technical support and to drive consistency and accuracy of engineering data and documents.
  • Assist Analyze data and business processes which includes data cleansing, data mining and profiling, benchmarking, reporting projects for site related equipment and maintenance related activities.Monitor and ensure timely data and documents turnover with quality as per specified KPIs
  • Drive continuous improvement to maximize business value

What do we need from you?

  • Minimum of 2 years industry experience as Data and Document Controller with knowledge of data/document control processes and systems on Major Capital Projects/Assets, and of EPC interface management.
  • Minimum with a qualified bachelor’s degree of engineering or science
  • Ability to write and manipulate databases (like SQL, Oracle) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cross-discipline engineering data (requirements and use) including business data model of engineering, spare parts management processes, Maintenance Management System build processes.
  • Knowledge and Hands on experience of document management system such as EDMS, ASSAI, Bentley, Sharepoint, etc.…
  • Knowledge and hands on experience of working with Engineering Data Warehouse (EDW) like AHA, AVEVA-AIM, AVEVA ISM, etc.…
  • Awareness to Knowledge of Engineering IM Scope of Work and Information Specification in a major contract, CFIHOS/DEP, Engineering Information Specification (EIS) and the related document or the equivalent IM Standard
  • Ability to perform automation to reduce manual works is preferred.
  • A good understanding of the Upstream/Downstream/Integrated Gas/Renewables business and how it works is preferred.
  • Good written and oral communications in English.
