What's the role

The Supply Chain (SC) Insights team is accountable for delivering high-quality, data-driven insights to all Supply Chain staff across the Shell Group. This role is responsible for transforming complex SC data into actionable intelligence that empowers the function to drive operational excellence and deliver measurable bottom-line impact. By enabling informed decision-making, the team plays a critical role in supporting Shell’s ambition to become the world’s leading integrated energy company.

What you'll be doing

Identify the need for, develop and deliver on-time and accurately the SC Insights products and services, including maintenance of the supporting processes, tools and systems. Products and services use a variety of source data systems (e.g. ERPs) and analytics or visualization tools (e.g. Power BI), and include:

  • Recurring, standard activities
  • Reports, dashboards and associated insights and action recommendations related to SC process, improvement plans and functional KPIs, management information, value improvement opportunities and compliance assurance.
  • One-off, ad hoc activities
  • Ad-hoc reports for the SC frontline using established data sets, tools and systems.
  • Projects and initiatives which could include complex deep dive value opportunities or proof-of-concepts for new products and services, such as advanced analysis or significant IT investments.

Be a focal point for a specific SC frontline organization, up to and including GM-1 and GM level:

  • Establish deep relationships and full understanding of such organization's needs, value drivers and objectives to ensure the SC Insights products and services are fit for purpose.
  • Facilitate engagements to enable the identification and implementation of initiatives and actions resulting from the insights generated by the team, using business language to articulate and quantify the impact of such and influencing skills to encourage change.
  • Proactively propose and articulate the benefits of new, relevant products and services, based on your understanding of the business needs and best practices from elsewhere in the Group.
  • Be a Thought Leader for a specific complex focus area on behalf of the SC Insights team, developing principles for ways of working and optimization, either alone or as a leader of a natural team within the community. The purpose of this element of the role is to give opportunities for cross-business exposure, to exercise original thinking and to ensure best practices are shared.

Dimensions

  • You will be co-located with other members of the SC Insights team, but your customers will be located all over the world.
  • You might be required to report mid-shift if you are in Manila.
  • You will have the opportunity to work with colleagues from support functions such as IT and Finance Operations, as well as with other non-frontline SC teams.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Information Technology
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in CP or related functions such as inventory management or supply chain, with relevant roles in statistical, financial or logistics.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint and SAP applications is a must.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in PowerBI, Power Automate, Power App, Visual basic, SQL, Python and any other data collection, data processing and data visualization tools are preferred.
  • Knowledge of CP master data, supply chains, systems, processes, tools and terminology is highly desirable.
  • Ability to identify, extract, refine, manipulate and analyze data to synthesize it into management information to report performance, draw conclusions, support decisions, solve problems and recommend required actions.
  • History of developing, refining and managing databases, scorecards and performance reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to be an effective business partner, building trust and influencing across a variety of organizational levels within a virtual, global environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver professional, coherent and effective written and spoken material, distilling complex messages to succinct, focused messages.
  • Coaching and / or (in)direct line management experience, demonstrating your ability to help a community to achieve its full potential.
  • Solid project management skills, driving through to completion and roll-out, overcoming challenges creatively and positively.
  • Experience of change management, including communication, planning and transition processes.
  • A self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple parallel deliverables, performing quality checks on your own output and output of your peers to assure accuracy.
