Technical Specialist - Subsea Surveillance Engineer

Primary asset focal point for subsea. Responsible for reliability, availability and integrity of Subsea Control system during the operate phase.
The Operations Lead Technical Reporting will be part of the VP TAO organization.
The VP TAO will be accountable for maximizing integrated business value across the organization. Technical Asset Operations (TAO) is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell’s Asset Management System and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Downstream Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes.
Purpose & Accountabilities
Key Process requirements:
Contribute and own activities within the facility and functional HSSE plan
Ensure Regulatory compliance
Support routine liaisons with statutory bodies, and other third parties
Actively promote and use the Standard Workflows to “do the basics right first time”
Comply with the Management of Change Process (e-MOC)
Comply with the requirements of the PSIMM, 0153-001, 0184-001, 0186-001, 0188-001, 0188-002 and associated guidance manuals
Meet DEM 1 & DEM 2 requirements for the Operate phase
Ensure HSSE embedded in technical solutions following principles of DCAF for modifications and projects
Complete all mandatory HSSE training
Participate and promote intervention initiatives
Manage equipment Care
Ensure subsea control system maintained in accordance with maintenance strategies in collaboration with the COPS team in Aberdeen and the control system vendor.
Daily surveillance of subsea systems
Maintain/improve the subsea control system availability to 98%
Provide support at site for the installation, inspection, testing of new equipment
Manage the execution of discipline related AMS deliverables & critical document updates
Monitor and facilitate subsea inspection (COABIS) anomaly review, action and close out of low grade anomalies, high grade anomalies to be worked in collaboration with the COPS team in Aberdeen
Primary focal point for generation and facilitation of Subsea and Pipelines Asset Integrity Review (SPAIR)• Provide subsea input to the annual pipeline and subsea asset class integrity assessment and reporting
Check facility documentation remains up to date and highlight any discrepancies to the Civils, Offshore structure, Pipelines and Subsea (COPS) team in Aberdeen
Managed Life extension and obsolescence requirements for subsea including sparing strategies
Ensure as-building of all modifications - including drawings, documents, COABIS, UMDB etc
Conduct system fault finding activities and develop detailed scope of work for any necessary repairs or modifications in collaboration with COPS team in Aberdeen
Assist with investigations of all failures and effect remedial actions to ensure learnings are implemented in collaboration with the COPS team in Aberdeen
Identify and manage deviations using FSR
Identify and manage significant risks through the MTO process and database including timely closure of actions
Manage the SAP process for Corrective WO (Z1) and master data change (Z6)
Identify and implement improvement opportunities leverage new technology.
Conduct ‘5 Whys’ and causal reasoning where subsea system has operated outside operation parameters, includingtimely closure of actions
Check deliverables of subsea pipeline / modification project hand-over as input to Statement of Fitness
Integrated activity Planning (IAP)
Actively manage the status of SAP Subsea activities to ensure prompt closure of all WOs by LAFD.
Manage corrective maintenance in accordance with IAP guidelines, minimising break ins
Ensure Subsea activities are included in the Asset MRP and annual budget in line with the facility business plan
Create Work Request Forms(WRF) for all subsea inspection and maintenance activities
Monitor asset and vessel operations IAPS plans and ensure alignment
Manage Subsea activities within the agreed facility budget and provide monthly updates for accurate LE process.
Wells, Reservoir and facilities management (WRFM)
Maintain Threats and Opportunities (MTO)
Provide input to contract management reviews for key support contracts

In partnership with Process Managers and stakeholders, can demonstrate the advantages of structured and detailed Subsea equipment’s and structures within their appointed sites, plants and locations or OUs.
Perform Subsea Engineer role and other technical functions, with scope covering technical data and documents of the operating units, manufacturing sites, chemical plants, supply chain and distribution locations.
This role is expected to help in implementing the standard maintenance strategy for subsea equipment’s & Structures in various operating units across the globe.
Technical Support that enables the operating units, Sites to leverage the benefits of utilizing the Engineering Services, Technical support, maintenance strategy to the fullest extent.
No Annual budgets which you directly control but can have influence over department and production area budgets.
No direct staff management responsibility. The candidate is also expected to coach/mentor less experienced staff.
Skills & Requirements
Strong aptitude for Learner Mindset
The successful candidate should have Graduate or Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant industry experience or 10+ years relevant experience.
Flexibility to move quickly across changing priorities and manage multiple Projects/Programmes
Ability to independently, resourcefully, and creatively research and implement new solutions
Demonstrated professional competence and managerial skills, and proven ability to influence change across an organization and geographies, including non-operated ventures.
A good understanding of the Upstream/DS/IG business and how it works.

End to End Process Management
