Process Operator, Catalyst Plant
What’s the role
As a Process Operator position for the Shell Catalysts & Technologies Martinez Manufacturing facility in Martinez, California, you will work as part of a catalyst manufacturing team. The Catalyst Plant operates 24/7 on a rotating shift schedule.
Accountabilities:
Operate and monitor equipment within unit to produce on-spec product
Perform in-process analytical testing, analyze in-process test results and apply appropriate corrective actions
Perform minor routine and preventative maintenance
Complete all required records and provide detailed summaries in shift reports and operator hand-offs of mechanical problems, repairs, quality and safety issues and process changes
Maintain all assigned areas to housekeeping standards and conduct work safely in the manner described in procedures and Job Safety Analysis
Work directly with maintenance to create safe work permits, lock-out operating equipment and monitor work areas
Receive training to be certified in operation of powered industrial vehicles (Forklifts and Aerial Lifts) for use in routine tasks
Receive and utilize training in the operation of computer software and tools required to manage daily work tasks (Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, DCS, IntelaTrac, UTL)
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
You must have a minimum of 1 year experience in catalyst manufacturing
Must be at least 18 years’ old
Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively
Must have the minimum of a high school diploma
Possess a current, valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States
Willingness to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, walk on high elevation grating, work in inclement weather, work around loud industrial equipment, and work in confined spaces and
outdoors with reasonable accommodations
Able to work while wearing a respirator or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
Willingness to work in an environment that requires the daily use of computers
Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, which will require work at night, on weekends and on holidays
To attend to emergencies, successful candidates must reside within 90 minutes of the site, or be willing to relocate to within 90 minutes of the site without relocation assistance
Willing to be on call and meet call-out standards to respond to site responsibilities and emergencies
As a part of the pre-employment selection process, candidates are required to submit to and receive satisfactory results from all pre-employment background, drug, medical, and reference checks, including hair and oral fluids drug testing

The rate for this position is $41.27 or $44.59. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes 120 hours of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
