Technical support roles reside in all the Business within Shell and are typically at the front line of the Company's activities. Shell Polymers is entering the market with a new Polyethylene production facility in Monaca, Pennsylvania. As a member of the Polyethylene Technology team, you will be a part of a 30 member department that includes the process support to the Polyethylene units at the Shell Polymers facility in Monaca, Pennsylvania, You will be part of the Applications Hall Operations team who play a key role in resin qualification and support to our customers. The team is composed of Resin conversion equipment experts across a range of applications such as blown film, injection molding, blow molding, pipe extrusion, and rotomolding.
What’s the role?
In this role, you will become an expert in the operation of Resin Converting equipment across multiple business applications. More specifically, your role goes beyond operating production sized lines and will include process optimization, process troubleshooting and care for the resin conversion equipment in the Shell Polymers Application Hall.
Maintaining a safe work environment through a learner mindset and understanding of core safety processes such as Management of Change, Permit to Work, Safe Isolation, and Hazards and Effects Management Process
You will be part of the Application Hall team who operate and care for Blown Film, Injection Molding, Blow Molding and Pipe Extrusion lines; and play a key role in resin qualification and support to our customers
Polymer processing and troubleshooting
Become an expert in the Shell Polymers product portfolio including the characterization of materials.
Develop an understanding of the utilities systems required to support the resin conversion equipment.
Maintain a safe work environment through a learner mindset and understanding of core safety processes such as Management of Change, Permit to Work, Safe Isolation, and Hazards and Effects Management Process
Capability of troubleshooting plastic processes in normal production and when evaluating various materials
Skills & Requirements
What we need from you –
This highly collaborative environment requires excellent communication skills and the ability to break down barriers. Minimum three (3) years of plastics processing experience required due to the near-term Business Critical milestones. Proven troubleshooting and problem solving skills backed by causal learning experience ability to interface with a broad spectrum of stakeholders including operations, commercial, and external.
You must also have -
A legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor's Degree/Associate degree in plastics engineering, polymer science, chemical engineering or similar; extensive plastics processing experience also an acceptable alternative.
Demonstrated ability to operate Plastic Processing equipment, including Injection Molding, Blow Molding and Pipe Extrusion.
High degree of ownership and personal drive
Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills backed by causal learning experience
