As part of the Surface Engineering team, the Senior Facilities Engineer position, based in Neuquén, will report to the Process Engineering Team Lead. This position will support Shell-operated ventures in Argentina (Sierras Blancas, Cruz de Lorena, Coirón Amargo Sur Oeste and Bajada de Añelo).

The principal role of the Senior Facilities Engineer is to support business requirements related to Brownfield projects development. The Facilities Engineer will lead the Front-End Engineering for Brownfield Projects covering all phases of project realization up to Decision Gate 3, to allow competitive selection and development through proper project framing. For minor projects MOC process will be used instead of ORS.

Primary focus will be the development of opportunities across Operations and the implementation of fit for purpose solutions for identified threats, in alignment with MTO process.

Accountabilities

  • Develop Brownfield projects from opportunity to select phase, transitioning during design to brownfield projects team
  • Set value drivers, lead opportunity framing, manage TECOP.
  • Implement Decision Quality.
  • Act as Process Integrator, ensuring all related discipline activities are met for managing projects risks
  • Translate the guidelines and standards into practice in order to solve technical challenges.
  • Act as MOC focal point, being responsible for assurance and continuous improvement activities associated to the process.
  • Lead operations infrastructure plan in alignment with MTO process and growth opportunities
  • Serve as Technical Authority to review and approve process technical designs (Technical Assurance) completed by contractors and junior process engineers
  • Support required HSSE initiatives
  • Act as contract holder for concept design engineering contractors, optimizing service and costs
  • Coaching and guiding of junior process engineers

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Graduated in chemical engineering or strong knowledge in process engineering
  • 8+ years of Process Engineering Experience (ops support, conceptual, basic and detailed engineering) and with Capital Projects
  • Process simulation experience (Pro II, Unisim)
  • Strong personal commitment to HSSE Leadership
  • Knowledge in safety studies (PHAs, Hazops, etc.) and safety critical processes (safeguarding, MOC, etc.)
  • Knowledge in ORS, PMF, and Process Engineering/Process Integration work processes for projects.
  • Prior project experience working with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction areas
  • Experienced in defining Process Basis of Design
  • Attention to process details required to make projects work that meet business objectives, are designed technically safe, meet environmental requirements, are operable and maintainable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in multi-disciplined environments.
  • Technical Authority (TA3) or ability to be assessed quickly as a technical authority for process engineering.
  • Native Spanish speaker with good proficiency in English
