Shell is seeking an Electrical & Instrument Technician

Maintenance craft roles are essential to the ongoing success of the Shell Lubricants Operations. In a Maintenance role you will be part of a team that is tasked with the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of our Congo Lubricant Oil Blending & Production facility. Accountabilities:

  • You will repair, install, calibrate, test and clean plant electrical equipment in accordance to Standard Operating Plan, Daily Operating Instructions and Standing Instructions and Site Health, Safety, Security, Environment procedures

  • Identify and implement equipment improvements to increase plant reliability. Communicate verbally and in writing to operations employees, supervisors and others regarding the identification of problems and completion of jobs in their area

  • Manage plant and electrical equipment upsets, abnormal conditions and subsequent trouble-shooting including incidents/plant emergencies and subsequent follow-up

  • Assisting in coordination of daily maintenance planning and participating in shutdown and start-up of units

  • Contributing in keeping process materials records and to maintain good housekeeping practices

  • Participate in maintenance (electrical) activities

  • Other duties as assigned

What we need from you

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum 3 years current experience as an Electrician or Controls technician in an industrial, military, or manufacturing environment and have completed (documented) training or certification in plant electrician in an industrial, manufacturing or Military environment

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Able to read, write and speak English

  • Willing to work in compact and confined spaces with or without accommodation

  • Willing to support the companies drug-free work environment, harassment free work environment policy, safety policies in diversity and inclusion policies

  • Possess a current, valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States

  • Comply with all HSSE regulations, policies, standards, practices and actively participate in improving plant safety culture

  • An automation background, education in or experience and understanding of industrial automation systems is a plus

The starting hourly rate for this role is $ 31.18.  Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.

Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
