Lead Planner TA
The Role
The Lead Planner Turnarounds has the responsibility for all planning and scheduling deliverables for several TA’s during time. This covers (collect) scoping, preparing, optimizing, updating and maintaining the plan/schedule to efficiently execute scope of work including resource optimization, checking availability of materials, completeness of work packs. It also covers breaking down scope into bite size activities for each area or discipline; assigning craft resources and durations; developing Material Take Off (MTO); developing Roser-work packages, initial entry into the Primavera-scheduling tool and some initial logic ties by the planner. The Scheduler would than assemble the activities from various areas or blocks, and projects, complete the logic ties, resource level, and ensure the schedule meets the quality checks in the scheduling premise document.
Principal Accountability
HSSE:
To always act in accordance with the Policy on Health, Safety and Environment and proactively manage all turnaround activities accordingly.
Turnaround Planning and Execution:
To deliver effective Turnaround planning/scheduling for all TA related activities (Maintenance, Operation, project) including:
- Gathering work packages with detailed information for planning and execution;
Data entry / import of detail job plans and estimates into scheduling tool; - Preparing logistics and environmental plans;
- Identification, review, and escalation of high-risk activities and communicates key issues and risks to the T/A Blockleader and/or T/A Event Manager;
- Implementation of T/A Planning and Scheduling Premise documents;
- Developing and loading schedule logics;
- Development and understanding of critical path and near critical path jobs;
- Sufficient quality and detailed reports for management and supervision to steer the event;
- Where this role covers a partial TA event – working together with lead scheduler to optimize the master schedule.
- Gathering work packages with detailed information for planning and execution;
Dimensions
- Must have knowledge of Turnaround Scoping, TA Planning, and TA Materials Management Premise Documents and Practices.
- Roser Consys knowledge is a preferable, but not mandatory. However, you must be willing and able to learn this, as 70% of the planning is processed in it.
- Responsible for consistent planning practices for multi block complex turnarounds.
- Coordination with numerous other Shell disciplines – Operations, Inspection, Technology, Central Workshop, Engineering, C&P, IT, and finance.
- Knowledge understanding of typical turnaround work processes.
- Provide Contracts and Procurement scope information required for contract tendering.
- Day-to-day communication is in Dutch, but English spoken and written at a professional level is a requirement.
Requirements
- Higher Technical Work and think level
- 5 Years + Experience in planning and executing turnarounds,
- Strong supervisory skills in managing crafts with good written/verbal communication skills and customer focus;
- Must be able to work effectively in a Team environment and build consensus;
- The Turnaround Lead Planner is an expert or will become an expert in GSAP, Roser Consys and is proficient with scheduling in Primavera
- Computer skills - PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook.
