Mechanical Technician

The Prelude FLNG facility is Australia’s first Floating LNG production facility, stationed northeast of Broome, Western Australia. The Prelude FLNG operation encompasses gas processing and liquefaction through to LNG/LPG/Condensate storage and offloading.
This role is based offshore on Prelude FLNG. The successful candidate should be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident and living/based in W.A. or willing to relocate.
What’s the role?
The purpose of the Mechanical Technician is to execute maintenance work safely and efficiently in time with the right quality at optimal cost. Identify and propose to the Supervisor ways to remove barriers to enable efficient & effective execution.
More specifically, your accountabilities include:
Safety
Keep up to date with safety rules and regulations.
Self-manage required FLBM’s competencies (Front Line Barrier Management) and ensure they are kept up to date.
Self-manage Safety Critical role competencies and ensure they are kept up to date.
Ensure compliance with Prelude’s PTW and LOTO procedures.
Ensure work team leaves site tidy prior to closing out PTW.
Complete/provide support for Causal Reasoning Investigation.
Report all incidents to Mechanical Lead Technician before close of shift.
Participate in after action reviews as and when required.
Complete toolbox talks in the field prior to commencement of work activities.
Complete Assist and Assure discussion in the field prior to commencement of work activities.
Complete face to face Hand Overs to in coming shift where required/directed.
Morning Job Start
Attend job start meeting.
Participate in discussion of Daily Safety Newsletter and review of previous tasks for Continuous Improvement
SAP
Completes daily close out / update of work activities.
Ensure PCNF (Partial Confirmation) & CNF (Confirmation) are completed daily.
Create notifications for work requests, engineering request and support.
Enter Damage Information in notification when completing final confirmations.
Enter Activity Codes in notification when completing final confirmations.
Review of work orders in ‘awaiting review’ (AWRE) status as directed. Discuss feedback directly with Work Preparers when required.
Coach/support peers to work in compliance with the AMS process to deliver safe and maximum asset availability at optimal cost.
Ensure excess materials are returned to warehouse immediately after work is completed.
Flange Management
Adhere to the Prelude Flange Management Procedure, this is to consist of the following:
Review of FMS (Flange Management System) check sheets prior to the execution of the assigned FMS task.
Hanging of FMS Tags as per the FMS procedure.
Completion of the Flange Checklist Summary sheet at the end of the assigned FMS task.
Up-loading of the completed Flange Checklist Summary as per the FMS procedure.
FMS focal point for vendors on board (Up-loading of completed FMS Sheets).
What we need from you.
We are looking for experienced Fitters/Mechanical Technicians from the Oil & Gas industry meeting the following criteria:
Trade qualified, with proficiency in the usage of E-Vision and SAP highly desirable.
Experience in:
Planned Routine Maintenance (PRM)
Campaign Maintenance (PCM)
Major Maintenance (PMM)
Providing support to vendors as directed by Lead Technician/Team Lead
Strong general mechanical skills
Strong understanding of AMS/SAP process
Ability to work flexibly and autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team.
