
Mechanical Technician
Purpose
The position of Mechanical Maintenance Technician – is responsible to perform hands on maintenance and coordinate the Maintenance Execution on QSGTL site by executing the maintenance job on time in a safe manner with high quality and driving Continuous Improvement.
He is responsible for driving the work activities to completion from end to end through professional coordination with multi discipline teams and Contractor Partners.
Candidate is responsible for ensuring discipline delivery & implementation of agreed targets.
Candidate is required to Comply with the Companies code of conduct, Procedures and Permit to Work mandatory requirements.
Accountability
Compliance with the Company's HSSE policy and guidelines. Demonstrate safety leadership is a key element of preferred candidates. Evaluate discipline requirements, develop maintenance plans, and carry out mechanical maintenance activities in area of responsibility
Prepare and complete relevant QA/QC documentation for all activities and support RCA (Root Cause Analysis) investigations.
Follow AMS ME (Maintenance Execution) process and use SAP tools to manage notifications, work orders, material management, and job history recording.
Create and maintain a harmonious industrial relations climate in order to minimize conflict.
Lead/ Liaise with contractor partners for maintenance activities and services provided by contractors related to maintenance.
Able to work effectively with minimum supervision and able to take important technical & business decisions.
Excellent team player with highly effective communications towards stakeholders / interpersonal & coaching skills.
Have ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services.
To be able to coach and train National Mechanical Technicians, Trainees and Contractor Partner personnel.
Establish materials and equipment required to correctly complete all allocated tasks.
Participate in on call Duty Roster, working additional time &/or weekends upon request.
Dimensions
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is part of the Maintenance Team - Feed Gas Preparation Area- responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities for pearl GTL complex.
The incumbent will be accountable for the maintenance of equipment’s based on approved maintenance strategies, procedures and working instructions to ensure the availability and integrity of the mechanical equipment’s and system thus meeting the requirements of the company.

What we need from You
The candidate should have at least 10 years hands on experience in maintenance of various Rotating equipment, Static equipment & Piping system including Compressor, Pumps, Column, Heat Exchanger, Vessel, Valves in Oil and Gas & Petrochemical Industry.
Lead by example, coordinate complex operations with other stakeholder with respect of professionalism.
Must have a good knowledge & understanding of various process equipment.
Lead the Hand on execution of maintenance activities of Mechanical equipment to ensure availability/ technical integrity by carrying out the day-to-day Mechanical maintenance works (PMs/CMs) including shutdown maintenance.
Lead and direct the group of Shell team and Contractor partners for the assigned jobs/ tasks.
Experience in plant Shut down/Turn around activity.
Coaching and develop National Technicians embedded within Maintenance team and ability to mentor junior colleagues.
Working experience on SAP system is essential.
Hands-on experience on Oxygen system Maintenance jobs will be added advantage.
Hands on and Coordination experience on Online leak sealing jobs will be added advantage.
Knowledge in Management of change process will be added advantage.
Must have skill in reading & understanding isometric drawing, Process Engineering Flow Diagram (PEFS) & cross section drawing.
Undertake & lead various specialized mechanical tasks such as overhauling of rotating equipment, mechanical seal replacement, static equipment inspection, piping system, etc.
Work efficiently within maintenance team, striving for adding value where possible.
Identify the problematic areas and derive possible solutions.
Experience in troubleshooting and analysis of equipment failure is required.
The incumbent shall have knowledge in scientific principles, different measuring principles, engineering fundamentals and computer technology.
The incumbent shall have the ability to work within a multicultural team environment and must be able to communicate effectively.
The candidate must hold minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Must have basic Knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word MS Excel & Power point Presentation.
Fluency in both written and verbal English is mandatory.
The candidate must be able to prioritize, organize and execute maintenance activities independently, working to challenging timelines and managing conflicting priorities.
