Commercial Operator - Low Carbon Fuels

What’s the role?
As a Commercial Operator on the Low Carbon Fuel desk you are carrying out the tasks required to meet the contractual obligations of deals agreed by your traders or refinery optimizers. You will liaise with internal departments, customers and other external parties such as third-party operations, brokers and independent surveyors as part of implementing each contract supporting the trading team.
The Commercial Operator will need to have a solid commercial mindset, you will have the freedom and opportunity to significantly contribute to the profitability of the product trading team. Next to this you need to demonstrate solid team working skills and have self-starter qualities. Be able to work accurately and focused under pressure and will exhibit strong communication skills. The willingness to assume responsibility for and ownership and accountability of his/her tasks is essential.
Modes of transport that you will be operating are very diverse. Contracts can be executed via waterways on barge and vessels. But you will also be operating contracts via truck, train, container and flexibags.
What we need from you?
We’re keen to hear from professionals who have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Beyond that, we’d hope to see as many of the following as possible on your CV:
Effective interpersonal skills, problem solving mentality and quick decision making;
Substantial experience with storage, handling and transport on a wide array of BioFuels;
Complete understanding of all factors that influence profit and loss and exposure. And ability to translate traders strategy to operational plan. Part of this role might entail blending activities on different terminals.
End-to-end understanding on how value is created in the biofuels business such as supply chain network design and cost optimization;
Knowledge of international import/export trade practices;
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
