Maintenance Excellence Engineer

The Maintenance Excellence Engineer works across the Maintenance, Turnaround, and Construction (MTAC) organization and with their stakeholders to drive continuous improvement. He/She has the responsibility, to implement, align, sustain and improve the work processes in the MTAC Department.
You will provide leadership and drive improvements to achieve Productivity and Cost Competitiveness in all MTAC activities. You will also support the Site Process Focal Point to drive consistent performance as per the AMS ME, AMS-TA & Capex/PCR process to ensure end-to-end integrated delivery of performance within MTAC.
What’s the role?
Part of your responsibilities as a Maintenance Excellence Engineer will include:
- Responsible to ensure compliance to HSSE standards and requirements to make Shell Jurong Island a safe place to work, and accountable for all assigned which includes and not limited to design, adaptation and implementation of HSSE control framework, procedures, and practices in Shell
- Drives continuous improvement to performance and compliance of the MTAC processes (AMS ME) by monitoring and analyzing the data related to MTAC processes
- Ensures best in class work processes (such as ME) are in place and effective as demonstrated by regular health checks on all MTAC activities. Conducts regular reviews and analyses of maintenance PIs/KPIs to drive continual improvements.
- Support SJI MTAC activities, and drive continuous improvement across MTAC and with the stakeholders. So as to achieve Productivity and Cost Competitiveness in all MTAC activities.
- Maintain and communicate the department metrics and performance measures.
- Establishes and sustains the local networks for ME to ensure knowledge sharing and work process consistency.
- Promotes & champions a “lean culture” and waste elimination across SJI
- An innovative individual with openness to adopt technology and digitalization to improve work process.
- Support Site Process Focal point for AMS-ME (including training), External and Internal Audits. Provide coordination to the multiple Shell Maintenance Excellence initiatives
- Supports Site Process Focal Point champion development of key maintenance strategies that directly support business objectives
- Ensure consistent and standardized deployment of key maintenance processes.
- Maintenance integration to support the implementation of other work processes, processes (MEC, ESP, etc)
- Support driving professional development among Maintenance population which includes defining standards, assessment of performance.
What we need from you
We are keen to speak with individuals who will have:
- at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in the same industry
- Mechanical Engineering with petrochemical industry experience
- Analytical with knowledge on Power Apps, PowerBI, Power Automate
- Ability to present data clearly
- Good communication skills, ability to engage others
- Passion to explore and adopt new technologies and digitalization for process improvement, and simplification of work processes

This position is part of the in-scope SECP Business and while the employing entity may initially be SGSC, a successful candidate’s employment contract will subsequently be transferred to Aster Chemicals and Energy Pte. Ltd. (“ACE”) to facilitate the Transaction. From completion of the Transaction, ACE will cease to be a Shell group company and will be owned by CAPGC.
Specific details relating to the impact on relevant employees supporting the SECP Business and timeline relating to the change of employing entities, will be shared with the successful candidate.
