
Senior Laboratory Analyst 3
What’s the role
You will help define and execute specifications, standards, test procedures, inspections, final testing and complaint investigation for products or services throughout the manufacturing, production or operations processes.
What you’ll be doing
The accountabilities of the Senior Laboratory Analyst include:
Core Scope of Work
- To perform all batch and periodic Lubricant testing in accordance with GPC requirement
- Preparation of samples for testing according to work instructions and international test methods.
- Execute testing timely to meet production plan
- Data entry of results into GSAP and excel files
- Perform equipment standardization when required
- Review and approves result prior to release for production
- To perform all specialty lubricants testing
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of the Laboratory.
- Ensure consumables are top up after use
- Keep workstation clean after completing work
- Perform blend correction for monograde/multigrade products
- Performing trial blend adjustment
- Calculate adjustment for off spec blends
- Issue and approve calculated blend adjustment sheet
- Manage inventories of accessories / chemicals required for equipment
- Update chemical inventory after use
- Make purchases for consumable with suppliers
- Tally and check ordered consumables upon receiving
- Oversee/handle gas cylinder replenishment
- Prepare testing standards and chemical reagents
- Perform dilution for standard preparation
- Weighing of solid chemical for reagent preparation
- Perform Secondary Quality Control on equipment
- Run SecondaryQuality Control samples on test equipment before proceeding use for production
- Analyse Secondary Quality Control trends and take proactive actions
- Perform corrective action if equipment does not meet SQC requirement
- Perform scheduled validation on equipment
- Adhere strictly to validation cycles of various test equipment
- Troubleshoot if validation result does not meet requirement
- Able to perform incoming checks on baseoil and additives
- Assure compliance of supplier Certificate of Analysis results
- Perform testing on base oil and bulk additive
- Communicate with logistic team on managing the incoming empty packaging
- Equipment Custodian
- Responsible in maintaining the equipment integrity.
- Maintaining sufficient supply of consumables and CRM.
- Competency to equipment knowledge, troubleshooting and method setup.
- Good knowledge to equipment function and capable of performing troubleshooting when required.
- Perform calibration/validation according to schedule and document record and update equipment status.
Ad-hoc activities
- Coordinate with 3rd party lab / other OU lab for sample dispatch and for reporting out to stakeholder
- Ensure timely dispatch of samples
- Proper packing of samples for oversea dispatch via DHL
- Preparation of oversea dispatch document
- Preparation of finished product COA for customer
- Generating Certificate of Analysis from GSAP
- Perform trial blends to support business initiatives / root cause analysis / corrections
- Skilled in navigating GPC and interpret treat rates
- Skilled in mass balance calculation
- Communicate with Regional Managers on trial blend results
- Perform Root cause analysis on off spec blends
What you bring
We are keen to speak with individuals who have:
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in laboratory testing
- Working experience as a lab analyst in oil and gas, and chemical industries
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering or other related
- Knows IT skills – Competency in basic Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Knowledge of Quality and Production KPIs and statistics
- Awareness of Lubes/grease Right first time
- Awareness of lab Sample track and trace
- Awareness of blending and filling Operation Equipment Efficiency
- Awareness of plant Customer and Internal Quality Incidents
