The Supply Chain Planning Specialist will be responsible for transforming and delivering strategies to improve end to end supply chain processes including planning, scheduling, warehouse and logistics operations for our Energy and Chemicals assets in Pulau Bukom and Shell Jurong Island. The Planning Specialist will also manage contracting & procurement activities for a small portfolio of materials contracts.

What’s the role?

You will manage demand and supply at the most competitive cost without compromising on HSSE; You will deliver value to the business by increasing our storage capacity and you will lead initiatives to optimize end-to-end Supply Chain (SC).

Your accountabilities include the following:

  • Together with our Engineering team develop a mid to long term plan, to manage demand and capacity.
  • Study our demand profile to develop improvement opportunities in our procurement, business and materials management processes to optimize supply chain costs.
  • Monitor and manage changes to our plans and schedules to ensure we find the right balance between business requirements without leaving value on the table.
  • Manage our outsourced offshore inventory teams to manage our non-hydrocarbon inventories.
  • Assess market place to profile new suppliers, benchmark prices; Develop and execute sourcing activities (tenders, negotiations and contracts drafting)
  • Develop fit for purpose reports to provide insights on demand and logistics.
  • Participate in business continuous improvement projects which involves materials movement.
  • Support the Supply Chain Manager manage the Supply Chain process manual, which includes initiating updates and changes to manuals where process have changed.

What we need from you

We are keen to speak to professionals with the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields, external supply chain qualifications (e.g., APICS) is an advantage
  • Min. 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain gained through operations or excellence roles in Planning/ Logistics/ Materials Management/ Contracting and Procurement
  • Understand operational, cost & HSE implications of different logistics and procurement solutions and provide recommendations
  • Understand and able to apply the Supply Chain planning process, the associated cost and performance drivers and relevant risk
  • Effective Stakeholder management and engagement skills
  • Experience with SAP
  • Able to manage uncertainty and work with incomplete data; able to manage and analyze significant amounts of data
  • Able to understand the customer context and to translate the customer requirements into SC demand /supply plan

(“CAPGC”), a joint venture company between Chandra Asri Capital Pte. Ltd. and Glencore Asian Holdings Pte. Ltd (the “Transaction”). The Transaction will transfer all of Shell’s interest in the SECP Business to CAPGC. This position is part of the in-scope SECP Business and while the employing entity may initially be SGOP, a successful candidate’s employment contract will subsequently be transferred to Aster Chemicals and Energy Pte. Ltd. (“ACE”) to facilitate the Transaction. From completion of the Transaction, ACE will cease to be a Shell group company and will be owned by CAPGC.

Specific details relating to the impact on relevant employees supporting the SECP Business and timeline relating to the change of employing entities, will be shared with the successful candidate.
