Data Management at SAMCo as a function is newly formed, our priority is to embed Data Governance & Data Quality by enabling a framework of standardization and supporting consumers across the organisation. As SAMCo transitions into a data driven organisation you will be pivotal in ensuring the support of support model in your day-to-day activities.

What’s the role?

As a Data Analyst, you will support data functions alongside the Data Steward community. You will have responsibility for instigating and guiding data improvement initiatives and have an operational role in managing data as an asset.

The team focus is on the complete data quality cycle, from logging and auditing the receipt of data to ensuring data leaving is of the highest quality. You will be responsible for the execution of data quality routines. This individual will proactively monitor, measure, analyse, execute, track and report on data quality issues. The DQA will interact with business users to resolve data quality problems using techniques such as root cause analysis as well as collecting user requirements.

More specifically, you will:

  • Execute Daily Data processes, in relation to Security, Pricing and Issuer Data

  • Monitor Data Quality, fixing issues and implementing data quality improvement plans

  • Ensure Data Quality meets customer expectations

  • Identify and track end to end data lineage using traditional methods / systemic tools

  • Support input into the Data Quality Dashboard

  • Seek opportunities to simplify and standardize data management processes

What we need from you

You must be/have:

  • Understanding of Asset Management business and associated data processes

  • Experience of data quality implementation, analysis and monitoring against complex Asset management datasets

  • Experience in data quality problem resolution across the whole Asset Management business.

  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience of Markit EDM, Simcorp Dimension or similar systems

  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg, Rimes and Factset

  • Proven relevant work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

You will be working across the business and taking the lead on analysing data quality, supporting the cleansing of data and reducing the risks associated with incomplete, inaccurate and inconsistent data. As a person you are a strong communicator, friendly, able to make a rapport with people, loyal and trustworthy. You have strong analytical and stakeholder management skills. You can quickly grasp the big picture and dive into details where needed. You are a quick learner and willing to adapt and improve constantly. You can act independently, but also join in the team efforts as a team-player.
