As part of Finance Team in Shell Downstream Services International you will be contributing to Shell Recharge Solutions strategy of powering the transformation to electric mobility to create a more sustainable future.

SRS EU has headquarters in Amsterdam with European offices in London, Paris, Antwerp, and Berlin and supporting services such as charge points, a mobile app, and a charge card providing access to 600.000 charge points in over 34 countries in Europe. Although SRS has become an important part of the wider Shell Mobility to deliver the E-Mobility strategy to become a global leader in the EV charging space, they still maintain a high degree of autonomy with an own board of directors, (extended) leadership team and DNA.

The Credit Control team is responsible for managing risks and exposures that arise from sales with 3rd party customers. The department aims to support the delivery of business objectives through risk & value based decision making consistent with Business Risk Appetite, World Class People and Process with active management of risk and receivables.

What’s the role?

You will manage the accounts receivable for a region end-to-end. Your goal is to prevent overdue amounts from occurring by structurally solving customer invoicing and other operational issues, and at the same time continuously improving credit management activities from efficiency and effectiveness perspective.

You will also be accountable for the following:

  • Daily credit control operations focusing on receivables management, reaching out to customers and internal stakeholders in order to decrease overdue debt and mitigate risk
  • Preparation of account statements, sending out reminders, performing collection calls, dispute initiation and monitoring
  • Ensuring effective receivables management though blocking of charge tokens, handing over debt to collection agency, negotiation of solutions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintaining and fostering good working relationships with Sales and other business partners in order to resolve issues, structurally improve core processes and deliver improved result
  • Booking of bank statements, cash application and allocation, performing refunds, accounts reconciliations and write offs
  • Reporting of AR balances, ageing, insights, and focus areas
  • Identifying risks and areas for improvement with the goal to prevent bad debt and decrease ageing receivables
  • Participation in various projects and other ad hoc tasks

What we need from you?

We are keen to hear from candidates with knowledge in Receivables Management, Accounting, Finances, “Order to Cash” processes.

We also would like to see the following experience and skills in your CV:

  • Cash collection process within an international environment
  • Working in Excel and other MS Office packages at advanced level
  • Academic level (HBO level) working /thinking
  • Trust IT, Business Central and SalesForce would be a big plus
  • Scale-up, automotive or energy environment would be a plus
  • Internal and external communication, written and spoken
  • Reporting and analysis

You will also:

  • Fluent in English and Dutch; German or French are a great plus
  • Accurate and structured in his/her approach and constantly looking for improvements
  • Result driven and quick to solve complex problems
  • Self-steering, proactive with great ownership
  • Flexible and team player
  • Excellent communicator with strong negotiation skills
