The RPA landscape will act as a global shared service, supporting various Shell business units. You'll be part of the Automation SOM DevOps team, helping to drive innovation and efficiency across the board.

What’s the Role

As an ABBYY OCR RPA DevOps Engineer, you'll tackle complex production bot issues and major incidents with a high degree of automation and technology integration. Working closely with the business, you'll ensure seamless deployments of code fixes and continuously propose improvements to add value.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and train the OCR engine for different document samples within Shell.
  • Liaise with respective Continuous Improvement Focal, and Project stakeholders as appropriate to understand the document layout & data extraction requirements.
  • Analyze & develop suitable OCR Projects based on stakeholder requirements.
  • Drive user acceptance testing, fix issues, and release for production after proper approvals.
  • Understanding of Abbyy and Blue Prism integration, to support available use cases
  • Drive high performance and business continuity of RPA as cloud services with modern SRE practices.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of operational standards and capabilities for RPA services, enabling highly available, scalable, and reliable customer experiences.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and incident management during outages, write and review RCAs, and use knowledge learned to improve RPA services, practices, and automation.
  • Ensure new design standards are followed across all production scripts and promptly handle bug fixes.
  • Drive issue resolution by taking ownership and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Manage issues end-to-end, working closely with Developers, SOM, and business teams.
  • Ensure Quality, Speed, and Ownership while delivering fixes.
  • Demonstrate Quality, Speed, and Ownership while delivering automation projects and following prescribed project management methodology.
  • Effectively prioritize requests for automation development and challenge the need as appropriate.
  • Continuously demonstrate behavioral imperatives and Leadership Attributes in all activities and engagements, focusing on key behaviors such as Quality, Ownership, and Delivery.

What you bring

  • 5 to 8 years of strong automation working experience with at least 3 years of experience in Robotics Automation using Blue Prism & ABBYY. Power Automate desktop & Decipher will have an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 2 years of operational experience in the field of RPA is required.
  • A degree in Engineering/ Master of computer application or any relevant degree with technical certification would be an added advantage
  • Nice to have: Abbyy Flexicapture 12 Specialist Certification
  • Hands-on experience in Landscape, Server management, and Operational support of tools. Experience in scripting, VB, Macros, and other automation tools would be an added advantage
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and drive suitable solutions
  • Strong appetite for learning and training others on Automation tools and technologies
  • Domain experience in Finance automation is an added advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to communicate with clarity and build strong working relationships
  • Good communication skills and fluent in English
