What’s the role

As a Senior Software Engineer - DevOps, you will bring your expertise in the Trading and Supply domain, with a strong emphasis on Trading and LNG operations. Your role will involve delivering short-, medium-, and long-term forecasting solutions that empower Shell’s trading teams across global LNG, voluntary carbon markets, and other emerging sectors. These markets are poised for significant growth, and your contributions will be instrumental in supporting and accelerating that expansion.

What you’ll be doing

  • Implement Dataiku to support Shell Energy Integration and Fundamentals (SEIF) analysts with 'low code/no code' capability to build models and develop a scalable solution to support increased volume & commercial complexity.

  • Own the platform configuration details, and how this is achieved in the build pipeline.

  • Support environment provisioning using Terraform and automate application/configuration management with Ansible.

  • Implement Git integration for version control and collaboration.

  • Work with Linux-based virtual machines to support platform operations.

  • Design, build, and manage Python code environments tailored to analytics and modelling needs.

  • Define and implement the user Joiner-Mover-Leaver (JML) process for access management.

  • Design and build model promotion workflows across different platform instances.

  • Support integration of diverse data sources into the platform.

  • Implement robust project backup and recovery capabilities.

  • Lead user onboarding, including documentation (user guides, wikis), training sessions, and platform demonstrations.

  • Provide ongoing support for user queries and platform capability adoption.

  • Develop platform reporting capabilities using Dataiku APIs to monitor usage and performance.

  • Support governance forums with dashboards and insights.

  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure a smooth transition to steady-state platform management.

What you bring

  • 8–12 years of experience in the IT industry, with a strong foundation in enterprise-level solutions

  • 7+ years of domain expertise in Trading and LNG, with a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges and workflows

  • Proficient in Azure cloud platforms, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing cloud-native applications

  • Dataiku experience is mandatory

  • Solid working knowledge of Linux environments, including VM setup and maintenance

  • Strong coding experience with Infrastructure as Code, using tools like Terraform and Ansible for environment provisioning and automation

  • Experience in working with Identity provide (IdP), such as Ping ID, Microsoft Entra ID, Etc.

  • Technical capability to support platform build and monitoring, including configuration through Dataiku APIs (preferred)

  • Understanding of analytics use cases and how platforms like Dataiku enable scalable data science solutions (a plus)

  • Azure or other cloud certifications are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning
