In Trading and Supply we are interested in attracting people to our business who share our core values of honesty, integrity and have respect for others. We also want those who can build on our business vision, are prepared to accept accountability, and can achieve great results through teamwork.

As a Natural Gas Scheduler, you’ll be part of the North America Gas Scheduling team. Being part of an international team, with half in Calgary and the other half in Houston, you will provide scheduling and operations support to both the Canadian and Mid-West US trade desks, including the upcoming LNG Canada project.  SEAm operations currently have a weekend scheduling team that provides primary weekend coverage.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage and balance pipeline and customer accounts

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all contractual, license and regulatory requirements

  • Understand the various balancing mechanisms in use across North America regarding imbalance tolerances and the financial cash out risks for shippers and traders

  • Input operational information daily into the internal gas management system (Endur) for accurate P&L and a clean hand off at month end

  • Maintain trusted partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Provide back up support to other Commercial Operators within own team and across NA teams

  • Perform monthly close activities on all pipelines and document top 10 pipelines to ensure timely and accurate reporting

  • Work with limited supervision to troubleshoot, resolve problems

  • Learning and supporting Shell Energy North America (Canada)’s developing LNGC business

  • Provide vacation coverage for weekend scheduler and after hours on a rotational basis as well as on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Primary working hours are 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM

  • During LNGC operations, primary working hours will be split between two shifts. 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 2:00 PM and 12:00 AM, with on call support until 02:00 AM

  • During evening shift coverage, provide real time communication and problem solving with internal stakeholders of the Value Chain

Skills & Requirements:

  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • Must have diploma or Degree in Business Engineering, or any other related field
