Maint. TL - Electrical Ref/Chem/Dist
Position Purpose
As a Maintenance Team Lead (MTL), you will be responsible for executing the work plan (Corrective and Preventative Maintenance) by directly supervising, developing and coaching of Craft Team Members (CTM’s) and Contract maintenance resources. Strict adherence to the Maintenance Execution Work Process ensures work is executed safely, within environmental rules, with high quality and efficiency.
This includes setting work fronts up to be successful, monitoring the progress of the work, intervening as necessary, seeking opportunities to supplement the scheduled work with fill in work, and communicating equipment and job status through accurate daily schedule updates. You will coordinate work activities and allocation of Shell Craft Team Member and Maintenance Contractor resources over very large asset areas.
Accountabilities:
Plan Delivery: Appropriate Resource Scheduling & Overtime Management, Maintenance Schedule Compliance, Field Planning for Emergency Break in Work & input into the 1 - 3-week maintenance schedule plan
Team Development: Progression, Recognition, Performance & Attendance Management, Succession Planning
Assurance: Permit To Work, SWP Compliance, Maintenance Execution Work Process, Shell's Code of Conduct and RWP policies
Lead the safe execution of maintenance work plans by ensuring quality relevant toolbox talks are conducted daily
Coordinating initial incident response for assigned process unit and reports
Identifying the need for critical task analysis (CTA), and initiate requests for CTA development
Ensure competent personnel assigned to work tasks, 100% compliance to HSE training
Manage the development of team by using Individual Development Program, Job Competency Profiles and creating gap closure plans; Manage performance of work team by utilizing Goals and Performance Appraisals; Developing people by way of coaching and mentoring reports to achieve development targets
Ensure timely resolution of priority work requests. This requires the MTL to allocate appropriate personnel to resolve or mitigate issue in a timely manner, coordinate path forward of mitigated issues by interfacing with stakeholders and entering follow up work request, manage impacts to daily and weekly schedules resulting from workforce being allocated to priority work
Manage costs: employee timesheets; contractor service entries; validate and approve invoices; ensure unused material returned to warehouse; manage tools and equipment rentals for work execution
Support commissioning of projects through craft / specialty contractors
Owns work under their main work center by ensuring continuity of work and ensuring timely and accurate updates are submitted to the scheduler
May be required to fill a reserve worker role
You will communicate and coordinate with other MTL’s, leads, coordinators, supervisors and operations to appropriately distribute resources and workforce in support of business requirement
Manage input, direction and requests from multiple stakeholders within the business
Strong interface with all facets of work execution
Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer
Must have a Journeyperson, or trade Technologist certification with a minimum 5-year maintenance experience in the energy sector such as Refining and Chemicals or closely related facility or comparable skill set
Bachelor’s degree in relevant experience
Skill/ Knowledge level in SAP Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
Excellent Leadership, influencing and negotiating skills, coupled with diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills as this role interfaces regularly with Engineering, Production, CP and Turnaround
Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills. Can effectively pull groups together and coordinate action plans to drive resolution
Can manage evolving priorities and deliver on multiple commitments in a timely manner
Able to effectively lead by managing performance, celebrating successes and apply organizational vision
