What’s the role

Shell Health Americas is seeking a Workplace Wellness Specialist (also known internally as Health Promotion & Performance Practitioner, Americas) to join their team in Canada at The Bow in Calgary or at the Energy & Chemicals Park Scotford located outside of Edmonton

This role will support the Health Discipline Manager Americas in delivering the Promote Plus plan for the Americas region, ensuring equitable outcomes through program implementation and adopting/adapting local materials in line with global Shell Health guidelines. The Promote Plus plan consists of activities and interventions that maximize the wellbeing of our population, giving them a competitive edge that enables optimal performance. This role will use Shell businesses and assets in Canada as an early adopter/test bed for HP&P programs and initiatives, as agreed with the Health Discipline Manager, Americas. The learnings will then be promulgated by you across the Americas.

The team delivers effective and impactful health interventions that can be clustered around PROTECT, PROMOTE, and ACCESS. As our Health Promotion & Performance (HP&P) Practitioner, you will contribute to improvements in health outcomes through the implementation and provision of access to HP&P tools and programs that support our objective of achieving the best physical, social, and mental wellbeing at Shell. Accountabilities:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate the HP&P plan for Americas / Canada and deliver the agreed HP&P activities and support using standardized tools and solutions

  • Develop wide variety of outcome-focused methods for Americas / Canada interventions, events, activities and information sources for the HP&P plan

  • Contribute to the development of an Americas Promote Plus plan and support the HP&P Specialist with delivery when required

  • Evaluate information, advice, trends and best practices from experts in the HP&P area of expertise for local optimization of programs and tools

  • Provide input and guidance on more complex HP&P matters and develop stakeholder relationships at the regional and country level to promote and roll out HP&P interventions

  • Work with and monitor external providers to deliver HP&P interventions

  • Work with all regional delivery teams to collate issues from the frontline, create optimized solutions and effectively disseminate best practices

  • Collaborate with other discipline asset class specialists to deliver standardized optimized solutions for the asset type

What you bring

  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Psychology, Public Health, Social and Behavioral Sciences or another relevant health discipline. A Master’s degree is preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years in health promotion and performance practice with proven track record of delivering improvements in health outcomes

  • Proven experience in working in an industrial environment or large organization is desirable

  • General understanding of health promotion and behavioral change concepts

  • Solid training and facilitation abilities, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Driver’s license is required
