The SEAM organization integrates Safety, Environment & Asset Management activities, with a broad geographical footprint, that supports Shell’s business & assets around the world.

Technical Asset Operations (TAO), which sits in SEAM, is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell Performance Framework to reach Shell’s ultimate potential in Chemicals and Products (C+P), Integrated Gas/Renewables and Energy Solutions (IGRES) and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are supporting our Shell sites remotely yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes. The TAO teams are located across 4 locations: Chennai, Manila, KL & Krakow.

The role of the Technical Specialist – EDM is responsible for driving Operational Excellence and establishing ADT Transformation agenda. Strong integration with other Data/Digital/Engineering IM Specialists is expected to achieve this within the TAO Delivery Operations Teams.

What's the role?

Purpose & Accountabilities

The role is responsible to:

• Drive the ADT transformational roadmap of Right People, Right Process and Right Data employing innovative and novel process, data and digital solutions. This is done using Agile or LeSS.

• Effectively and independently drive transformation agenda through alignment of a diverse group of organization stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization hierarchy.

• Identify the organization need, create the opportunity/problem awareness and establish the solution to realize the potential value.

• Support Technical Operation teams to actively address critical operational continuity challenges structurally in the area of Projects and Engineering Data Management (1D/2D/3D) but able to restore base capabilities within existing delivery teams with immediacy.

• Champion ADT-wide replication of capability centralization and process standardization to enable an adaptive workforce chapterization.

Consultancy/Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Act as an SME by providing steer with regards to application of fit-for-purpose standards and best practices to:

• Responsible to enable business value delivery through innovative EDM solutions to enable business strategy delivery, value drivers and KPIs. Ensures that business Information requirements (as dictated by business processes) are fulfilled. • Supporting the IM Process Assurance role to signal shortcomings and inconsistencies in processes and process work activities.

• Liaises with the business and developers internally and externally to deliver EDM solutions. Compares market standard solutions with in-house developed or legacy solutions and provides limited consultation to the business.

• Acting as an effective business partner to support the Operational Excellence team.

Dimensions

• This position structurally reports into the ADT Technical Operation Manager for Asset Data & Digital Transformation (ADT) with functional reporting lines to the Excellence Lead - ADT. • This position is an individual contributor role with expectation to work as a centralized expert capability pool that drives organization-wide transformation through delivery and Specialist teams.

• Able to effectively collaborate virtually, across timezones, and across multiple stakeholders and ADT operational teams.

What do we need from you?

Skills & Requirements

Education & Experience:

Required

• University Degree in an engineering discipline with 8+ years of experience in engineering/business analysis/data analytics/statistics.

• Communication mastery: High degree of communication skills both written and oral; Able to apply simplicity, prioritization and structure to effectively deliver clear and compelling case for change with way forward.

Stakeholder management: Expectation to effectively manage complex interfaces with a broad range of central, TAO and ADT stakeholders e.g. managing primary functional and secondary operational excellence line manager and responsibilities.

Framework thinking: Ability to derive structural patterns, develop archetypes and find pragmatic ways to solve the problem using various framework models e.g. stack & flow, VSM, SIPOC, SCQA, Mynto pyramid, etc.

Commercial mindset: Entrepreneurial ability to identify the need and quickly devise a pragmatic agile plan and solution to get there.

• Proficient at using basic and intermediate data visualization (PBi or equivalent) and data & digital analytics (SQL, Azure ML, etc,) to draw insights, patterns and actionable root causes to focus on.

• Experience with Engineering databases, IM applications such as Engineering Data Warehouse and Electronic Document Management systems (e.g. AIM-EDM, ASSAI, Hexagon, etc.).

• Experience working in an ERP or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP or Maximo.

• Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to forge a strong global network.

Preferred

• Proven track record and experience in leading mid-scale organization change and transformation programs.

• Proven Agile Project Management experience is desirable.

• Strong technical and proven experience applying Shell’s ways of working that includes Shell process, standards/frameworks/recommended practices such as Shell ORP and Project Management Framework.

• Strong technical and proven experience applying Shell Discipline and Industrial Standards including DEP, DEP-EIS DEM1/2, JIP33, ISO14224, CFIHOS.

• Proficient in various data analysis methods and and statistical analysis methods to model operational ground reality challenges e.g. Z-plot, paretto, etc.

• Dynamic and independent impact player that can effectively drive transformation agenda through alignment of a diverse group of organization stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization hierarchy.

• Candidate needs to be a passionate self starter that is flexible, adaptable and resilient to drive transformational changes across a diverse group of stakeholders in an environment with high resistance to change.

• Resourcefulness to leverage all available information and resources know-how within organization, industry and cross-industry to apply fit-for-future innovative solutions.

• Able to define the box, think outside the box creatively to innovate and transform current ways of working.

• Has passion for implementing sustainable, standardized, and robust Engineering Data Management with a vision to create a strong support delivery organization.

• Strong communication skills and quick learner in areas that can be outside sphere of competence through framework thinking, critical problem solving and root cause analysis.

• Good team player but able to work independently with minimal guidance.

• Ability to prioritize and ensure delivery of priorities for the area of responsibility.

• Flexible and adaptable to change.
