The Operational HSSE discipline partners with the Businesses to achieve Goal Zero by providing them with overall safety support and to ensure delivery of effective HSSE management processes. The discipline includes:


• HSE Generalists, who do general HSSE management and 'integrate' expertise from the various HSSE & SP disciplines without being necessarily experts themselves in these disciplines.
• Specialists in the management of the safety risks and barriers associated with Road and Operational hazards.
• Specialists delivering support to the Businesses and to the HSSE and SP disciplines in the fundamental areas of Behavioral HSSE, Contractor HSSE Management, Emergency Response, Incident Investigation and Learning, and Product Stewardship.

What’s the role? 

  • Ensure full compliance with Group Life Saving Rules at all times.
  • Incumbent is by default the secretary of the location safety and health committee.
  • Drive safety culture, lesson learnt and best safety practices.
  • For high-risk activities: review documentations (permits, certificates, JHA/HIP, checklists, MSDS and procedures) to ensure that hazards and their controls and mitigations are adequately identified.
  • Perform spot checking that the controls measure of the permits are adequately in place, are being correctly implemented and maintained during work execution. Checking that no new risks have appeared and ascertaining whether additional risks should be considered in the PtW;
  • Randomly attend onsite toolbox meeting with contractors.
  • Providing training and guidance to newcomer to the locations and lead the safety briefing for personnel coming onboard.
  • To prepare the annual Location HSSE Plan.
  • To carry out monthly review of the Location HSSE Plan.
  • To be the custodian on site for the regulatory compliance letter & register.
  • Responsible to track PPE issuance and train personnel on correct use of PPE.
  • To ensure that the training matrix is being reviewed and any outstanding or potential overdue is being mitigated up front.
  • Provide/coordinate HSE training on-site or for site personnel.
  • To be the Focal Point for and drive the close out of audit/review/verification findings/remedial actions including but not limited to HSE Case Remedial Action Plan and Fountain System.
  • Periodic monitoring and analysis of:
  • Compliance to environmental Regulation and Standards
  • HSSE Systems compliance.
  • Lead location HSE Improvement program and analyze incident and ACT trending.
  • Assist OIM on site incident investigation and reporting.
  • Assist OIM in conducting site risk assessment and on-site audit/verification program.
  • Other additional roles and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time by OIM.

What do we need from you?

  • Portfolio has a stable external environment with low level of risks.
  • Has limited exposure to / interaction with business leadership and external stakeholders.
  •  Signals HSSE risks and shortcomings.
  • Manages multiple large operational HSSE projects.
  • Works with moderate supervision, which requires a comprehensive combination of applied and theoretical knowledge. Job requires a solid understanding of standard principles. Applies standard techniques or procedures to assigned tasks.
  • Experienced HSE advisor, safety officer or Operation staff who is familiar with oil and gas industry’s HSE procedures and requirements.
  • 5 years working experience in oil and gas industry.
  • DOSH Greenbook holder is an advantage.
